Strange Memories..

about 6 or 7 years ago after being df'd and shunned by family and friends for so many years.. i got to thinking that perhaps if i tried to get reinstated.

not entirely sure that i really wanted to or if it was simply an idea to do this and then just did a slow fade (if that is really possible) - then i would be able to be around my family and friends like old times again.

i even attended a few meetings in the new city i had moved to.

That is tough to go through, and you should not feel that you are being negative here. It is unacceptable how they treat people and how uncaring they really are. They told you that they don't want you back, and you should take that as it is. Never go back. If they ever come to the door again, tell them what happened, and quote scriptures on love.

They are not god's people by their actions. If they were, you would be welcomed back like nothing other. Wouldn't Jesus have done that to you? Remember the scripture on how everyone rejoiced over the prodigal son coming back? Did he have to go through years of shunning before his father would talk to him? No. That was Jesus making that parable, no one else. Therefore, they act like scribes and pharisees, and you are better than they are.

I am so sorry for your sadness and pain right now. It hurts me to hear all these stories of people who miss their families. I have no real words of wisdom here, b/c I have not experienced it first hand. Please hang in there. Things happen for a reason, and there is reason for this. There has to be!

your health

for those that were in the borg for thirty years or more how is your health.

i was wondering if all ex's are having more health problems than the " so called worldly" who over indulged in smoking and drinking and carousing.

i was a light drinker and never smoked , but now i have hypertension and had a heart attack and having to take meds everyday.

Hiya!

I also suffer from depression, and take meds for it. (about 8 years now). Other than that, I'm fine! The only good thing about the borg for me was quitting smoking! I will never do that again.

July convention coming

***the mole*** i have to report the july assembly is coming.

a letter read to us last thursday advised us to stay at recommended hotels only.

we were told by the governing body that those who do not stay at recommend places are on a path to rebellion.

Yes, I would like to see some proof of that allegation, too. Although the society is quite silly, I don't think that they are capable of that. However, they did keep quiet about the molestation cases, so it could very well be a fact. Anyways, I would definetly need to see some kind of proof.

Just wanted everyone to know that for the 5th year in a row I will NOT be attending. Nor will I be out there protesting. It is their religion and if they wish to be blinded by it all the more power to them.

Donald Duck and Jehovah

all of us grew up watching and enjoying the antics of donald duck.

laughing as he slowly but surely lost control of a situation, and then finally, in an impotent rage, threw a temper tantrum.

sometimes, it was his nephews huey, dooey, and looey who drove poor donald to the brink and beyond.

You make a good point there, but I have to think about it for a bit..... God did try to help mankind, but they seemed not to listen. Too much to think about right now with my befuddled mind.

My nephews favorite book is huey, louie and dewey book. It was one of the first ones put out, and is very expensive... (I have one!) For some reason he loves the book so much.

What am I talking about? I don't know.

Hmmm...

I like how their first argument is pretty much scripture free, then the latter is full of scriptures.... I do believe in giving people double honor whom take the lead. However, I don't see how / why they expect us to believe that we should follow them anyways. Personally, I choose not to, therefore do not honor them.

Reading the Awake is EQUAL TO A 4 YR COLLEGE DEGREE--

below is the basic view of jw towards education and in 30yrs theirs views really have not changed much- a tweak here and a tweak there, but after all is said and done you can still get a 4 yr degree from reading the awake smile

1969 "in view of the short time left, a decision to pursue a career in this system of things is not only unwise but extremely dangerous .. many young brothers and sisters were offered scholarship or employment that promised fine pay.

however, they turned them down and put spiritual interests first.

i was an aux.

pioneer 4 or 5 months a year when my seasonal job was over.

Yes.... just aux. pioneered a bit. What a joke. Nothin' but back-stabbing and whining by everyone. I even refused to work with a certain brother b/c he said all my friends were losers.

Finally they came to my door!

well it was a thursday night and i see these two sisters walking up the street, my after thought was what the hell are they out on bookstudy night?

so then the doorbell rings, bingo my wish has come true after a year of reading i get to ask some door knockers some deep hearted questions!.

as they went into there spiel i had a major flashback, they were saying the exact same thing i recall my father saying 30 years ago "we are living in such a terrible world" and i said to them what, this is a great place to live, we are in a great country living a great life!

When she asked if you were disfellowshipped, "What are you talking about? Disfellowshipped? What does that mean?", and got all shocked... "wow, if you're going to be weird and start asking weird questions like that out of the clear blue sky.... "

Where do they get off asking such a question? God, they have no grasp on reality, do they?
