canadian justice coming to an end this week, hopefully
by needs_lots into all who have been following my lawsuit against the society here in canada, the judge is to make her decision this week.
it has been a long 8 months since the trial, but we are keeping our fingers crossed that she makes the right decision when it comes to protecting the children (and myself) from the wrongs of the society.
we have not heard yet if she needs more time, so friday is the end of her extension.

Depression, Suicide, Abusive Parents
by kitties_and_horses_oh_my! inthis is my first time posting...i've been lurking for awhile.
i "faded away" in september and my mental health has greatly improved, although i still struggle with a somewhat-controlled eating disorder.
i have a long history of mental health problems, from the time i was about 20. i was raised "in the truth" and my parents were very emotionally/verbally abusive.

Your story is not at all unique, sadly. So many persons have suffered here... such horrible things....
Depression brought me to the organization, as a relief. Unfortunately, the relief never did come, and they drove me to suicide on more than one occasion. I felt like I was the only person in the world, and that communication with anyone was impossible. It was the darkest moments of my life.
that all changed when I left the org. My anxiety dropped, my self-esteem boosted, and I got help. I strongly suggest that you go see your doctor asap, and see about getting some help, both medical and psychological asap.

I did it
by La Capra ini finished my first year of law school last month.
grades arrived at the end of last week, which was when i found out i am first in my class.
i was not trying for it or expecting it, so to say i was surprised is an understatement.

If you ever get down, think about those frigging elders who told you how naughty you were for being so smart, become the best damned lawyer that you can be, and get them to clean your windows for you.

I lost my baby

tuesday 27th may 2003 at 12.30 am, i misscarried my first baby.
i was 9 weeks pregnant.

I am more than sorry for you. I simply cannot imagine the pain that you and your family are going through.... you are in my thoughts. Please take care of yourself emotionally. You can pull through this, once the mourning is done.

One year ago this week I left the JWs...
by logansrun inwell, it's my anniversary.
one year ago this week i left the organization and have only been to one meeting --a funeral for a dear friend.
i didn't get disfellowshipped or write the letter announcing my apostacy, just a complete vanishing act from the crummy religion which was mine the first twenty-five years of my life.

On The Art Of Fading
by expatbrit inin october of 2000, i faded away from the watchtower.
like most people, i have family and friends who are jw's (including my wife and parents).
fading is generally the best method for people in that situation.

Excellent Post... just another in the line saying so. Well thought out, and packed full of information.
I would like to add, don't give the elders anything...... don't let them in your house, your always busy, don't give them a straight answer EVER. They will bait you, and do whatever they can... just tell them that you're not ready to talk about whatever it is..... and stop going to meetings.
