There WAS a directive for them to do this... to find inactive ones and see if they were "disassosiated" or not. If you don't believe it anymore, and tell them that, they will disassosiate you. If you want to stay in your current standing, just don't talk to them, and never, EVER talk to two at once....

visits to inactive ones is there any directives recieved by elders
by quinah ini know i might have asked this before, but have the elders ever had any directive on visiting inactive ones with a view to finding out their current situation/feelings on being a witness, and then using a negative response as an "excuse" for disassociating them or disfellowshipping them?
i thought i had read some where that there had been a push on visiting inactive ones with a view to doing the above.
i have just mentioned this to the in-laws who are still in the borg, and they asked another elder who denys the fact that this would be done.

Received a Letter from a JW Friend Who Doesn't Know I DA'd
by Cicatrix inso here i am, getting used to life on the outside and lo and behold i finally hear from a long lost friend.
the problem is, i'm not really sure how to answer her letter.
we were out of touch for a year, and in that time i da'd myself.

Wow... that's a tough one...
Hey, I say just write her a quick note, saying that you DA'd yourself, that you are not at all sad, and feel great. If she still wants to communicate, just write back to me, otherwise, nice knowing you, and I understand...
Let her know if she ever wants to strike up the friendship again, you'll be there for her... no matter what.
Kill them with kindness... don't let them win by thinking that you're mad...

Gilead School Courses
by VM44 inin the thread "jehovahs witness university" there are many humorous posts about what would be taught at a jw university.
in the thread it was pointed out that the jws do have a recognized school, gilead.. what i have never seen is a list of the courses taught at gilead.
they must have some structured curriculum in order to grant a diploma.

I believe that it's for missionaries... maybe they teach them the importance of the missionary position at all times..... who knows? What the hell are they learning that is so important there? Like 5 meetings a week wasn't enough....
And, what about pioneer school???? Gimme a break! I heard them say, "It's worth it to pioneer just to go to the school - you get so much information..."
Load o'crap.

I am thinking of doing it....

Thanks...Jesica...
That is food for thought... I am going to have to think long and hard about this. It's just too much to take in right now, but it just seems like the thing that I need to do...
Sorry for all the "I" posts, everyone. The realization of how far these people controlled me, and took advantage of us all is just too much sometimes. COC is just a sad, sad book and I feel so badly for all those people....... they went through worse things than I could even imagine. One can only imagine how the abuse victims feel here. It is impossible to understand unless you're in their shoes.

That is, DAing myself. I have been reading COC, and am just disgusted right now. How can my name be attached to this man-made cult? I don't think that even my friendships that are in the religion are worth my conscience right now... how much it is bothering me.
It's pretty amazing.... I thought that I would never ever think of doing this drastic step, yet right now I am completely considering it...
Has anyone else out there felt like this? I am very torn right now..... very torn, but just thinking about it....
Now I know why this black-eye emoticon is on this board.

Who has written to the WTS about all the scandals?
by berylblue inmy only jw friend, to whom i wrote four months ago, wrote back and said, in part, "you are accusing the wts and have condemned the brothers without hearing their side.
that is not fair.
you need to write to the society and give them a chance to explain".. has anyone done that re: un, silent lambs, etc.

I tried to get everyone writing letters a while ago, but nobody seemed interested. It may have been tried before without success.

Watching an elder sh*t in his pants... priceless.
by confuzcious incable modem and monthly service charge - $39.95.. paperback copy of ray franz "crisis of conscience" - $19.95.. watching an elder sh*t in his pants... priceless.. one thing i learned is that elder's hate to look bad in front of the c.o.. after numerous attempts to ask the c.o.
for a shepharding call to go over injustices in the congregation, i finally ran into the c.o.
while having his 11:00 coffee break with the congregation.. till then, the elders would stone wall everytime i would ask for a shepharding call from the c.o.

Hee!
I did the same thing.... it had to do with the elders not caring about my time, and they wouldn't let me auxillary pioneer one month...
The C.O. got word of what happened and reemed their asses out good. He had a special Friday Night meeting with all of them on that one case.... it was excellent.
That friday night, they announced that i was auxillary pioneering for the month....
It felt sooo good! They were not at all impressed with me... no, not one bit.

Jesus was gay - says academic
by ISP injesus was gay - says academic
jesus was gay and so were at least three of his 12 disciples, according to an australian academic.. .
dr rollan mccleary said jesus's astrological chart, clues in the scriptures and biblical translations, all played a part in his conclusions.. in a forthcoming book, he attempts to present st john's gospel in a new light to back up his claims, reports the herald sun.. dr rollan mccleary, a university of queensland phd graduate who now lives in melbourne, has just been awarded his doctorate for a thesis on gay spirituality.. an anglican and a qualified reader of astrological charts, dr mccleary said the planet uranus figured prominently in jesus's astrological chart, as it did with many gays..
