by Elsewhere intoday i accidentally ordered a lunch sandwich that had bacon on it.
it's been a very long time since i've eaten bacon and i was shocked at just how good it is!

Watch out for cheating gas stations.

this is from an email i got from a friend.
there was a report that 1 out of 4 gas stations had calibrated their pumps to show more gas being pumped than what you actually got.. here is how to check a pump to see if you are getting the right amount.. whatever grade you are using, put exactly 10 gallons in your tank, then look at the dollar amount.

I've heard that, elsewhere...but I'm not so sure that's just an urban legend.
Honestly, do the gas pumps even have the ability to be rigged in such a way? Seems like they would be highly regulated. Why would a manufacturer of such a pump design it with that ability?

Gaming Addiction
by desib77 injust curious, has anyone ever dealt with a gaming addiction or had someone they love that is addicted to online gaming?
(world of warcraft in particular) how did you handle it?.

They don't call it World of Warcrack for nuthin'....
Personally I don't touch games like that (MMORPGs) with a ten foot pole. I remember back in the early 90's there was an online gaming service called The Sierra Network that had an online role playing game. It was very addictive and I would spend probably 80+ hours per month playing it.
If it becomes a problem, I think it may need to be dealt with like any other addiction that disrupts family life.

Your proposed solution would not help identify the situation you describe.
If a pump was lying about how much gasoline was being pumped, the math (price per gallon calculation based on the display) would still be correct.

I have suggested that so many times... it bugs the hell out of me, too! I agree that this board lacks dozens (if not hundreds) of features found in other board software, not to mention the stability issues...

It is especially unimpressive when the "hidden" image is only visible when the original image is split and mirrored along the horizontal or vertical axis.

MLM isn't the answer for anyone. It is a huge scam, like Dogpatch said. This includes Mary Kay and Amyway. (In some cases the products may be ok, but the business model is a scam.)
MLMs are basically pyramid schemes that are only legal because they have some product they are selling. But the real purpose of MLMs is not to sell products, but to recruit new members.
