I have a tattoo on my upper right shoulder blade, but I want one more: a phoenix, representing rising from the ashes. Btw, it doesn't hurt nearly as much as you might think!!

Any advice on tattoos?
by carefully faded ini've been faded for almost four years now.
i've decided in the last month or so that i would really like to treat myself to a small tattoo.
i'm going the conservative route and plan on getting it on my lower back - so it can be seen when i want it to be, but also easily hidden when necessary .

Dear CG,
Please know that we all love you so much. I'm going into the Psychology field and currently work with both mentally-ill and developmentally-disabled children. It is a draining at times, as much as I love it. I see a therapist once every 2-4 weeks, not as much anymore for a lot of my own sh** but b/c the jobs drain me so much. What she said at our last appt. was so enlightening, and I know you would fit into this category. Those of us who are "healers" or in the "healing professions" give and give and give - and we, to be honest, get a "high" out of giving - it's not an entirely unselfish act. But it takes all kinds to make the world go round and our kind is a blessing like most other kinds out there. But we also only have so much healing energy. The more we give, the lower our reserves get, and pretty soon we are so drained ourselves, so emotionally trashed, that we find ourselves doing out-of-control things to somehow get our personal reserves filled again. I hope you find yourself able to plan things to take care of you, because otherwise you're going to burn out.
Much love,
Kitties

To trust myself. To love freely and openly without worries about if that love would be returned. And to not be jealous - it's a waste of time and energy.

Do you know of any "baptized" JW's that committed suicide or attempted?
by booker-t ini remember one of my childhood friends was found dead and the police said he committed suicide.
i just could not believe it because my friend was a "devout" jw almost franatical about it.
now years later since i have seen both sides of the coin i am beginning to wonder if my friend did indeed kill himself.

Myself, twice. I would say thank god I never succeeded, but it would be more accurate to thank doc. Thankfully that was some time ago and my life has improved drastically.
RHCP, please know that what you said about things getting better is so, so true: they will. Please don't give up and please remember that we are all here with open arms to catch you next time you feel you're going to fall.
Much love, Kitties

yikes - "the result of a botched elder visit" - ?
seems like a misuse of language more than likely - the elder's visit did not actually cause the attempt, did it?
perhaps the visit was the trigger or one of many - but the actual cause?I've met Sabine and her husband and heard the story from them, and yes, I think the wording above is accurate.

I don't know who my Secret Santa is!! I got chocolate the other day and today I got a sweet card and candles - but I don't know who sent it! LOL I can't think of anyone I know who lives in New Orleans and who possibly lived here in Kennewick (which the card mentions). Whoever you are, you're sweet and you're making my holidays so much fun! Thank you!! *muah*

My brother was committed last week
by hoodwinked inmy brother, a long time witness who has been disfellowshipped, shunned and treated like shit by the witnesses for the 10 yrs has been committed to a phsyciatric wing of our local hospital.
he has been having delusions saying he has been chosen by jehovah and will be taken up by the archangels in to heaven.
he has also been hearing voices of demons and and blames satan for being responsible for all the troubles he has had in that past 5 yrs or so.

I work with the mentally ill and would recommend a few things:
- you didn't say where you were located, but if it's in the US then disability is what your brother needs, not welfare
- contact your local social services agencies (Lutheran Social Services, Catholic Community Services, etc.) and find out what resources are available for both him and you - possibly a group home for him and defnitely a support group for you!
- he needs a case worker from the State to coordinate everything
Best wishes, and thank god he has you to help him - Kitties
