Know that you aren't alone in feeling as you do. I could be very discouraged about my present situation, but I know life is no fairy tale and that I will have to deal with problems even if they seem to be many.
That is one reason why I joined here as to get more support. I offer support and take it though when I need it. It looks from the short time that I have been here that there is a great group of people here to talk to about anything on your mind.

There was no doubt that I felt pressured. I tried to put it off, but it was the thing to do as a jw. Either you got baptized or stopped coming to meetings. There were a few exceptions, but not many.

i've been having a rough go financially lately and my job is less than rewarding.
my hours have slowly been cut back over the last few months to the point where i've had to decide between food and bills.
however, my sister's friend brought me a job ad.

For those who don't know, I was a jw for 29 of my 34 years and have been posting on only one ex-jw site. That has been helpful, but I want to post to another site also that is more extensive.
I will admit that it is hard at first to get to know people on a new forum, but that is what I want to try to do. Please let me know. Jes and Aztec, you both have my email I think.

i'm currently twenty six years old and left the jws about nine months ago after a year and a half of intense doubts, many hundreds of hours of research, cognitive dissonance and bouts of vomitting (stressful, eh?).

I am glad I had my safety hemlet on. Actually I am trying to get to know people here better as I don't know many. By the way, I am originally from Decatur, Illinois and was born and raised there. I have been to Chicago some. A lot of taxi cabs is all I know. I live in Houston and we actually have to call taxis. In Chicago, you just step out on the curb in downtown and a taxi will be there in 10 seconds at best.
