the watchtowers call to all congregations for accountants and lawyers especially those familiar with tax laws makes me seriously think they may be in hot water.
since the watchtower organization has been very vocal especially in the past about its anti-government stanse and its df'ing of persons that join the military,or other government jobs, i'm willing to speculate that the united state counter intellignece agency has seen the need to sneak some of its agents inside the wt, for internal security purposes.
also i'm sure that the internal revenue has been keeping a close eye on the gb,, the reason being that they are a huge cash cow, and a dishonest coniving mind control cult.
While police and intelligence organizations do keep an eye on many cults and high control groups I doubt they would allot much in the way of resources to the WTS. I'm sure they have their informants in the society, but I think the watchtower is too insignificant to warrant the cost of a full time mole.

None of the elders ever asked to know who contributed or how much.
They probably checked themselves when the audit was done every 3 months.
When I was account servant? I noticed that the PO never donated anything, and I'm sure no one ever got on his ass. But I was regularly harassed for not donating.

So, a person should reveal confidential, personal, medical information to the PO as though it's his business? Obviously they have no intention of keeping the matter confidential, or there would be no need for the (c) portion of the question - "(c) not react negatively when some choose not to invite him into their homes?"

I notice that they left out another important question - Why should a JW with a communicable disease avoid putting their disease carrying money in the contribution box?

i was attending meeting last sunday and the elder conducting made the annoucement that the memorial for south congregation will be on thursday at 7pm but we do not know where yet?
you will have to come back tues nite to find out the arrangement.
can you believe this ..i mean is this not the most holy day in the christian calendar and for jw's the most important day of the year?
I have heard of 7 or 8 congregations having it at an assembly hall or small convention center.
My last hall gets together with a bunch of others and they rent a convention center every year. They have several memorials going on at the same time in different meeting rooms. It would be a great place to picket, since it's about the size of a circuit assembly.

how will we know when it is armaggeddon?

why is it that a jw is considered "spiritually sick" by the elders and the members of the congregation, if he suddenly decides to stop going to meetings and doesn't see eye to eye with the organization anymore?.
i see people who belong to other faiths, and are very active and seem spiritually healthy, even though they don't believe in what jw's teach.. .
i've been told by elders, that i was "spiritually sick".

back in the 1960s there was, seemingly, a brief period of relaxation in authoritarianism among jehovah's witnesses.
those who have read raymond franz's 'crisis of conscience' will have heard the story about dan sydlik's remark about the need to 'open some windows to let some air in here'.
When I was still a JW some of us were wondering aloud who the "king of the north" is now. One elder suggested it might be Iraq, or even the UN.
I doubt they'll come out with a specific date in the near future. The memory of 1975 is still too fresh for many, and they know their critics (us) will quickly sieze upon such mistakes. They're probably waiting for some newsworthy event to take place and they'll call it a "sign". I'm surprised they haven't called 9/11 a fulfillment of some prophecy.
