I hated everything about all the meetings, except for one thing. Running a mic allowed me to check out some cleavage. Once they took me off mics there was nothing good about the meetings.

since the jw religion is sooooo restrictive, it is good to think about just how wacky this cult is.....for example, you can get counseled for buying a 2 door car as opposed to a "pioneer" car (4 door).

what did you do about your wife? how was her lack of submission evident to the elders?

What did I do about her? Well, we're no longer together. But at the time it's not that she was so unsubmissive to me, she simply refused to subject herself to every brother in the congregation. If the elders tried to talk to her about something she'd say "Don't bother me - go talk to my head. He's right over there." And she'd walk away leaving them standing there stupidly. I really liked that about her.

I know plenty of JWs with 2-door and sporty type vehicles. Perhaps what you're referring too is way old 'light'.

The fact that they have the 2 door vehicles isn't evidence that they've never been counselled for it. I also knew some with 2 door cars, and they were all, without exception counselled for it. They simply chose to disregard the counsel.

I was counselled for biting my nails. Apparently it's demonic to be enslaved to any habit!

I was also counselled for wearing bright ties, driving a 2 seater van for work, being overweight, joining a gym to lose weight, having financial problems when I was out of work, being materialistic when I inheirited my dad's house, going to school to retrain rather than living on a disability, working overtime to pay off debts accumulated during my retraining period, having an unsubmissive wife, wearing tinted prescription glasses, having a moustache, wearing a t shirt in public, owning a motorcycle, wearing a leather jacket on the motorcycle, not smiling enough at the kingdom hall, not commenting enough, not underlining my watchtower, having red eyes due to a sleep disorder. I'm sure I could come up with more if I thought about it long enough.

But the elders had no objection when I accepted employment with a political party.

Years ago, we were given a bread making machine, and we use that for making dinner rolls, pizza dough, and sometimes even a loaf of bread!

Scully, I bought a bread making machine a few weeks ago and it's great! I got sick of buying bread in the store only to have it get either dry or moldy within a couple of days. Now I just program it to have the bread ready for me first thing in the morning when I wake up. Nice smell to wake up to.

How many Bible studies does it take before brainwashing sets in?

i would like to know how the study starts...... what kind of information is given to the potential new convert when he / she starts studying with j.w.

's., lesson to lesson.. what is taught in the first few "lessons".. when the brainwashing starts to be taught.

My brainwashing has re-started.... An elder comes once a week to study a book with me. I've been inactive since over 10 years, and I went to the memorial, and a few other meetings, and now once a week, and elder comes over for a study. They come out with so many bible verses, and it doesn't take long to get re-programmed.
Help!

People who are sick, either physically or spiritually, do not boost statistics or revenue, so it is not worth the elders' while to waste their valuable time on such ones.

I agree, wasting food is disgusting behaviour. I see little reason for such waste on the home front. I know how much I eat and plan my meals accordingly a week in advance. Nothing ever gets thrown out.
