  i've finished my da letter which i'm planning to send tomorrow.

  WOW!!! Thanks for all the support! The response I received on the board and through email has been awesome! Well, the letter is in the mail but hasn't been received yet. As usual, I received the regularly scheduled Monday night harassing phone call from my former BS conductor, so I told him about the letter that's in the mail. Of course, he tried to talk me out of taking this position, but I told him that my decision was final. I wasn't going to argue scripture with him though. I can't really see any point. Now it remains to be seen if there's any fallout on the home front. I hope not, but it's probably inevitable.

  sorry if this has been brought up before (and i'm sure it has) but what are your nicknames?

  what people nickname you can be very telling about your personality and it's funny that they sometimes become more a part of you than your given name.. i have a long list of them..lol!.

  when i was a kid: carrie canary (cause i walked around singing all the time).

  As a loyal JW, what made you to start doubting the Watchtower ???

  i'm sure all of us were loyal at one time to the watchtower, believing in all of it.

  (some of us probaly hated it from day one as well but, ).

  what were some of the first things that happened or were said, that made you to start doubting it and beginning the loss of your loyalty to the organization ??????.

  The lack of christian love in the organization that was supposed to ne an identifying mark of Jesus' followers.

  Failed predictions.

  UN involvement

  Protection of child molesters.

  Altering of text in bound volumes when compared to original text.

  Obvious clergy class even though they claim there is none.

  Society's position on education.

  Practice of shunning.

  Man made rules emphasized more than scriptural principles.

  ...and many more.

  Aztec, I wanted to include the expletives, but I would have used up much more paper. There's just TOO MUCH I could say. I trimmed it down from 19 pages already. Besides, there's probably more chance of them reading it this way. Then again, maybe not. But I like your idea of an additional enclosure! hahaha!
  
  kgfreeperson, yes, it does put me at odds with my wife. Very much so. Even though she's inactive, she's still very pro org. It's too bad really, considering she's had to put up with a lot more than I have.

  So Tell Me, Do You Think You've Got An Attitude?

  it seems some are proud of their attitude ('tude) here.

  whether it be because of being now out of the watchtower or because of feeling they have a new beginning, the 'tude can shine through.

  whites might think that blacks show an attitude while gays might think that the heterosexual world has an attitude toward them.

  I don't have an attitude at all. Oh, no! My years in the Borg have made me very meek and mild. I'm very shy too. It would never ocurr to me to be unkind to anyone, no matter what they did to me. I have no life, other than to serve others. And I consider it a priviledge to do so.

  in 1989, we as jw's distributed and studdied many articles in the watchtower.

  i remember one study article in particular that indicated that the preaching work would end by the end of the 20th century.

  when the year 2000 came around, i searched bound volumes and the watchtower cd, but couldn't find the statement.
