I'm sure they want to see me as much as I want to see them.

has anybody invited you to go to the memorial this year?
do you expect to be invited?.
usually elders come over a few days before to invite me, but they didn't come yet....
I'm sure they want to see me as much as I want to see them.

do you guys know any very obviously crazy jw's?
i've noticed that they have been "flocking" to the org.
over the past few years especially.
her non-JW family finally took her to the doctor where she was diagnosed Schizophrenic, and put on meds. She never spoke with the angels after that. (I wonder if she missed them?)..
We had a sister? like that in one of my halls. She couldn't work and spent a lot of time out in service?, to the point where the elders put restrictions on how much time she could go out. She was considered an embarassment, partly because of her illness and partly because her voice sounded like she was constantly inhaling helium. She always thought she was talking to angels too. She missed them when she was on her meds and eventually quit taking them. Eventually her non-jw mother kicked her out of the house because she went out in service? so much that she didn't do any of the housework. She ended up in a women's shelter and we never heard of her again.

I'm sure that one day it will be the effects of inbreeding. They can only marry JWs, and in many places they are on the decline. The pickings are getting progressively slimmer. Already we are beginning to see some congregations dominated by drooling half-wits.

When he was called on he ALWAYS said talked about how the trinity was God and how Jesus died on a cross, hehe.
Were you paying him to do that? You got me thinking about hiring a couple of local wackos to raise some hell at the memorial?.
In my last hall there were 3 up-and-coming brothers? who had some obvious mental handicaps. One used to bop his head around when he spoke. Once his whole body got into it as he made his way to the podium, and I thought the momentum would carry him right off the stage. There's another in my first hall who's an elderĀ?. He has a very obvious twitch in his scalp, which is about 85% hairless. It was tough to watch him on the platform giving a talk because his scalp would twitch and wrinkle every few seconds. If he was really on a roll his entire face would get involved. These facial aerobics caused me to leave the meeting early many times because I couldn't contain my laughter. My last PO sounded a lot like Daffy Duck, and another elder? I know sounds EXACTLY like Elmer Fudd. Even when I was still a JW, I often said to my wife, "When God said he chose the foolish things of the world, he sure as hell wasn't kidding!" There were times when I thought that was the only scripture that found fulfillment in the JWs.

there has to be a lot of fading or questioning jw out there that want to read this book but are afraid of getting the hard copy because of fears of getting caught, mailing issues, etc.
i think if this were available as an ebook, so many more ppl would be able to read it.
it would make it so much easier for those who want to take a look at this discreetly and take the leap.
But these arguments are wasted on those who have never produced anything. They believe that roasted chiskens should just fly into their mouths.
their was this guy that we saw on the sidewalk yelling things at the witnesses that were walking by.
they called him mr. coffee.
rumor had it that the demons wouldnt leave him alone unless he did this everyday and that his wife was a reg.
My Bethel "friends" said, "Don't talk to them."
I can see their reasoning from a JW perspective. Why waste time preaching to people who have no money to donate? We have many homeless in Toronto, but I never met a JW who would talk to them.
Walter
i really dont know but i have read both opinions on this forum.
many in my fam are in but we never talk about their religion, except when they invite me to some meeting, or the memorial, assembly etc.
I think they're becomming more reclusive. Recent renovation projects here at halls and the assembly hall, and some new halls make the buildings appear less accessible. Glass has been replaced with brick. New, higher fences surrounding some properties. Driveways gated. Elders trying to increase the level of control they have in people's lives. And I can't remember the last time I saw JWs in service? in my area. Many used to do street witnessing? at a nearby subway station. I haven't seen anyone there for several years.
Maybe the doors to the modern day ark? will soon be shut!

how many have had elder give u this counsel(or if /were an elder given this counsel):
"its come to our attention that u were(fill in space with anything that is up to your own conscience that is ok in wt world such as pg-13 movie, certain music, or choice of entertainmen).
this has offended the conscience of others" then proceeds to counsel u to cease and desist so as to appease the other persons conscience.. isn't this a case of the sensitive conscience forcing me to abide their concience even more so than they claim im offending theirs?
When the elder told me I wasn't spiritual enough without a necktie, I kicked the door of the Hall on my way out and never went back.
It's all about appearances for them. Sometimes they counselled me because my tie was too bright.
A child molester is acceptable to them as long as he wears a necktie because that makes him spiritual?.

having a pulse and not missing meetings?
my grandfather is an ms and i know for a fact that he is not the picture perfect jw.
he doesnt do anything wrong but he is no bastion of spirituality either.
A prospective MS must fill the following criteria:
Walter
particularly for those who are shunned for reasons of dfing and daing completely, who do you miss the most that no longer has anything to do with you?
and why?
I was never close to anyone as a JW, so there's no one there to miss.
I just miss the person I used to be prior to my JW life.
