"You don't have 10 different versions made by 10 different churches; each and every one of these were made by the official translation group of the major church." --- There are even more translations - translated and used by several *sects*. Translators' names like Uuras Saarnivaara (Jumalan kansan Pyhä Raamattu "God's People's Holy Bible") and Anders Wilhelm Ingmann (Koetusraamattu "Try/Trial Bible"). Raamattu Nykysuomeksi ("Bible in Modern Finnish"). For NT, eg. Heino Pätiälä and Aapeli Saarisalo. Where do you base your information? Have you ever seen, read or touched these books? Because I have. I don't peg your pardon, but this link is in Finnish. ---- http://www.aimoo.com/forum/postview.cfm?id=311102&CategoryID=3459&startcat=1&ThreadID=2476148 --- There might not be 10 different versions made by 10 different churches, but there are many, though. So, Awake is wrong, again.

WT only complete Finnish bible?
by Dogpatch inin the awake!
of jan. 2006, page 23 it apparently (i don't have the mag) states that the watchtower's new world translation is the only complete finnish bible.
could this possibly be true that after all these years there are no others in finnish?

OldHippie: "no other translations have been available except the WT translation." ----- You're wrong. Some old-fashioned sects (eg. Laestadians) use the older version (Finnish 1933,38) continually. And many Lutheran church members. So actually two translations are used widely here, and thirdly, the NWT is used by some ignorant JW's. So, the Awake is lying, again. (Some parts of the Bible are translated in different styles, too, but this was not the point here.) You can read the Finnish two translations here: http://www.evl.fi/raamattu/1933,38/Raamattu.html and http://www.evl.fi/raamattu/1992/

71 % of JW's are women, this study shows. It was the highest number among different religions. http://www.gc.cuny.edu/faculty/research_briefs/aris/key_findings.htm Earlier discussion on this very board: http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/6/97173/1.ashx (Sorry I can't link.)

My First Apostate Vacation -- Surfing and Dope and Counter-Culture
by tetrapod.sapien inwell, it's been almost a year since i have been out of the borg "mentally".
and almost 6 months since officially da'ing myself and stepping away from friendships that i had worked at for a decade.
actually, they stepped away from me, but whatever.. it's been a heady year for me.

An independent vacation is a really good way to sort one's thoughts after leaving a cult. I did it myself a few years ago in France, while I was cycling along the river Loire. I spent a lot of time thinking. I also read and translated some life experiences of former JW's. Having a sport vacation was also a good thing to cheer me up. I lost some weight and gained some selfconfidense. I can recommend!

What does a JW have to do, to be SURE he will be saved at Armageddon?
by JH in.
write down everything a jw must do in order to be saved at armageddon.
don't leave out anything.. and maybe you can add things he musn't do either..

A JW can never be sure about being saved - as mentioned above. The nearest thing, is to give a monthly report and to be submissive.

I think Jerry Bergman has estimated that there are almost as many ex JW's as there are active JW's. I just couldn't find the site. And I don't remember if he counted the children, too.

Statistics or info on WTS trail of destruction.
by greendawn ini wonder if there are any statistics or reliable info if even regional that give the number of jws that died due to wts policies against blood transfusions (and organ transplants for a limited period).
.
and also about people that committed or attempted suicide under their destructive cultish influences.
