Remember, Wicca is a restoration of true worship (hehe, had to throw that in!) of pre-Christian paleothic goddess worship (Google Venus of Willendorf) that was de rigeur in the British Isles and Northern Europe before the Romans started spreading the new Jewish sect.
Wicca means different things to americans and britons...... What you described would be traditional craft in the UK, and most of the ones I know would be highly offended if you classed them as wiccan which they see as an entirely new belief system started by Gerald Gardner in the 1950s.
Convert me! I'm Pagan!
As a pagan, I find christian atheism a fascinating, and I can resonate with a lot of its beliefs.

does anyone know what a 'suspended sentence' means
by orbison11 inor a 'stayed sentence' means.
thanks.
orb.

thanks guys,,so that would mean the person was 'not' innocent?
The person would have to be found guilty for the judge to be able to pass sentence.
If a person was given a 2 year suspended prison sentence they would not be sent to jail at first. If they committed no further crimes in a certain period, then this would expire and they would not go to prison. However, if they are found guilty of another crime they have to serve the 2 years in prison, plus whatever sentence they get for the second crime.

ADVERTISE OUR CAUSE - BILLBOARD TRUCKS
by skeeter1 init pays to advertise.. there has been some recent chatter on other threads about a major jw news story about to break within the next few weeks by ak-jeff!
it seems reliable.
if this is true, i started thinking....... i remember when dateline aired, wouldn't it have been neat to have billboards in major cities, and one across from brooklyn?

To put an anti-JW ad on an advertising truck costs about $3,000 - $4,000 for 3 days.
Why not buy an old flatbed truck, convert it to display posters, and put your adverts on that. After the assembly season/big news period has past you could sell it and recoup the costs. Or at $3-4000 for 3 days I'd be tempted to keep it and sell the advertising space!

by Gadget ini've been posting on here for four years now, and so much has changed in my life.
everything seemed to be going wrong then, but time has done wonders and things are real good now.
lots of people on the board helped and supported me through that, as well as new non-witness friends that i made.

One of those was Claire, who I eventually began going out with and then got engaged to in Canada last year. We got married yesterday! It was a great day, but without the support and info from this board I'd probably still be trapped as a struggling jw and nowhere near as happy as I am now.
We're flying off to Greece first thing tomorrow morning, I'll post some more pics when we get back.

Whats the latest list of blood products allowed by JWs?

Thanks for the links, I've been reading through them and pasting to a word document to print out.
As of last night nobody in their congregation had been informed that she'd been admitted to hospital, so the hlc aren't involved yet. She might need to go into surgery urgently and so I'm worried the hlc might not be there in time to inform what is now allowable.
She got a cut under her fingernail that got infected but didn't respond to treatment. The infection moved up to her knuckle and so she was refered to the hospital yesterday. The dr there thinks that rather than an infection its because of the blood flow being stopped, basically gangrene. The surgeon is seeing her this morning, but from what I can tell the only treatment available may be amputation. If it travels at the same rate it did yesterday it'll probably be past the thumb and into her hand by the end of today.
