Try telling her you aren't interested in the JW religion AT ALL and she how fast she changes her tune. My guess is she will drop you like a hot potato. Or else try to guilt trip you into going back, or maybe scare you with talk of your being destroyed at Armageddon. For sure, the 'friendship' won't survive unless you become a Witness. It's really that simple.

PEER PRESSURE!!! I gave in to Pioneering during August...I feel dirty...
by stuckinarut2 inok, i'll admit it...i am weak.... as everyone knows, the pressure to "pioneer" during "the most momentous, awesome, amazing, centenary anniversay of jesus invisble kigdom rule, & distribute tracts about a dodgy website" campaign is very strong at the moment.... also, many will have read my threads about the extreme views and expectations in our cong for "all appointed men to pioneer" etc..... every elder and ms and their families have been announced as pioneering....i mean everyone's name was read out except mine..... i was not going to do it, as i do not believe anyone should be forced...(and of course its the last thing on earth i would rather do anyway since learning ttatt).
but i am not quite ready to make the break yet, so i realised that i would stand out more if i didnt put in a form to pioneer.
yes it would make me more conspicious, and make fading harder to do...it would bring more heat on me if i didnt pioneer.. so i gave in and submitted a form.... now, of course, i'm only going to make sure i'm seen at the key field service groups etc...but then go and do something more interesting...like count blades of grass..... ahh....i feel hypocritical to myself now......

My best suggestion is: Just don't do it!!!! Tell them you were standing on a sreet corner handing out invitations, or going to various laundry mats to place brouchures. Just use your imagination and make up some story to tell them. Or you can say you were stumbled by the pressure to Pioneer and got depressed. Why even waste your time going out in service in August? It's all a total crock anyway. After August just attend 3 meetings for a few months, then 2 meetings a month, then 1 meeting per month. After about 6 to 8 months you can stop going completely. If anyone asks you why you are missing meetings, simply say: 'It's really not something I can discuss, except with Jehovah'. That ought to do it. Good luck!!

Aussie Pentecostal Group busted as 'Abusive Cult.'
by fulltimestudent inthe australian abc ( a government owned media group) has published the results of a four year investigation into a nsw-based registered charity and religious group christian assemblies international (cai).. the four corners program revealed that self-styled religious guru pastor scott williams was using his warped brand of evangelical pentecostalism to run a clandestine homosexual sex ring while allegedly misusing vast amounts of member donations for personal use.. courageous former members broke their silence and told of their torment living inside the group, which they said is not a christian church but a horrendous cult run by one man.. they detailed shocking acts of abuse ranging from spiritual abuse, financial abuse, verbal and physical abuse, and the sexual abuse of adult men.. they said bizarre sexual rituals were carried out in secret by williams, who described himself as "the anointed one" with the lord's authorisation to sidestep biblical commands against homosexuality and sexually train his male members into submission and obedience.. .

That group is definitely a clone of the Watchtower. Their doctrines seem to be almost identical. Beware of ANYONE who says 'The End is Near'. Also run from any group that says 'Work for us, for FREE, and you will be saved'. Hard to believe the Witnesses fall for it hook, line & sinker.

Your then-wife sounds as though she was married to the Watchtower first, and you second. The entire incident could have been avoided if she hadn't snooped on your computer, and then betrayed you by informing the elders. Personally, I think you are better off without that turn-coat of a wife. Hopefully you have found happiness and peace out in the real world, beyond the Watchtower's evil grasp. Best wishes!!

Why are 'most' of the people fighting in the Middle East MEN???
by NAVYTOWN init seems that in every war or revolution, 'most' of the participants are men and young boys.
aside from the occasional female suicide bomber.
does this have something to do with their religion and/ or cultural traditions?

Even in Biblical Old testament times, how many FEMALE soldiers or warriors are mentioned in the Bible? Does this also tie in to why JWs are totally ruled by MEN?? Why aren't JW women rebelling against that unequal treatment? They seem to passively accept men as the ultimate rulers over them.

It seems that in EVERY war or revolution, 'most' of the participants are MEN and young boys. Aside from the occasional female suicide bomber. Does this have something to do with their religion and/ or cultural traditions? Are men and boys chosen by evolution to be aggressors and warriors? This seems to be true in virtually every war worldwide. Just wondering.....where are all the women during these conflicts? Is it just a coincidence that all of the 9-11 terrorists were men??

If You Can Get Out Of The Jehovah's Witness Religion---DO IT!
by minimus ini realize some people feel they can't just leave the religion.
they have family, friends, position.. some elders mistakenly believe that they might be able to reform the cult from within.
the truth is, the religion is never really going to change.

Quitting the JWs is akin to children who are afraid to enter a darkened room. Once the lights are turned on they find there are no 'monsters'.....their fears were a figment of their Imaginations. Time to TURN THE LIGHTS ON and get out!!! Just stop attending!!!

Would you do this to your kids? Is this cold or am I crazy?
by BU2B inmy mentally in jw wife is trying to organize a "princess party" for my 4 year old daughter and her little cousins and friends.
she was looking at prices of a tent for the backyard party in case it rains.
she asked the hardware store how much and they said 90 dollars for the day.

DO NOT under any circumstances participate in his anniversary party!!! If your wife insists on going let her attend without you. You are CERTAINLY under no obligation to foot the bill for it. The best bet if for you to just ignore the whole thing. Your in-laws having no problem TAKING from others, but try ASKING them for anything. You'll get the cold shoulder. I have generally found JWs to be very stingy people.

Avoid meeting with them if at all possible......depression.....anxiety.......troubled......etc. If they do end up meeting with you and your wife, when you are asked ANY questions just reply with: 'I really have nothing to say'. Keep saying that to whatever questions are asked as a follow-up. You don't owe them any explanation about anything. They can't DF you for saying nothing. Even the U.S. Bill of Rights gives all citizens the right to 'remain silent' so as not to incriminate themselves. So if you don't say anything they will have nothing to use against you. Whatever happens, I wish you well.
