The Illusion of Superiority
by Coded Logic inafter reading dozens and dozens of posts and hundreds of comments, it seems to me that a great many people on this forum think that since they figured out ttatt, they must therefore be a highly intelligent and incredibly rational individual.
let me take a moment to congratulate everyone.
its a big step to figure this out - i know.. that said, it doesn't make you a genius!

My Story: from JW Elder to Born Again Christian to Agnostic
by passwordprotected ini first posted here on 3rd june 2008. at the time i was an elder, appointed the previous october, i was 36 and i was a born-in.
at the time i'd become disillusioned with the society due to the governing body's letter explaining why the book study in private homes was being abolished.
april 2008 saw me start questioning this decision, privately of course, and this eventually led me to this site, to jwfacts and to many youtube videos, all of which began to errode my faith in the leaders of the organisation.. in july 2008, having discussed my doubts with my wife, i attended the district convention, deciding to give the society one last chance to convince me it was the truth.

OOPS!!! SORRY. Back in the 1980s I attended meetings for about 8 months at a KH in San Diego. At that time, large group gatherings were happening pretty frequently, with no problems that I was aware of. Once I hosted a pool party/cookout for about 30 members of the congregation, in honor of an Elder and his family visiting me from Texas. I was just studying at that time. Another time, there was a night-time beach bonfire party for about 40 people at a beach in La Jolla. Everyone had a good time. Life seemed good then. But somehow all those good times ended in recent years. In the early 2000s when I was again attending the same congregation, the only social events were JW funerals and a meal afterward at a local apartment complex. It seems that the large 'fun' gatherings no longer were happening. Does anyone know the exact reason this was ended? And wasn't there any grumbling about there no longer being these enjoyable group activities?? Now even the weekly Book Study Nights (with food and socializing afterwards) are long gone. Does anyone have other examples of when and why the 'good times' ended??

Stephen Lett (Governing Body of Jehovah's Witnesses) Publicly Counsels Politicians During Convention Keynote Address In Africa
by jwleaks inzambia: fulfill promises ... jehovah's witnesses counsel politicianstimes of zambia.
august 23, 2014. by chatula kampo.
a top jehovah's witnesses' world leader has bemoaned politicians' failure to fulfill campaign promises.. stephen lett, who gave a keynote speech at the on-going convention held at levy mwanawasa stadium in ndola, said politicians needed to meet the aspirations of people who vote them into public offices.. meanwhile, conversion overseer john mashilipa has urged fellow witnesses to respect the government of the day, obedient and continue remaining non-partisan.. in the keynote address streamed live from solwezi district in the north-western province, mr lett, one of the seven members of the world governing body said electorates expected much from the people they vote for.. "there is need for politicians to fulfill their promises to their voters once they assumed power," he said.. he observed that most politicians failed to fulfill promises to their voters who had high expectations.. "politicians usually promise a moon and not deliver to their promises, this is disappointing to the voters who have high expectations," he said.. mr mashilipa said believers needed to seek god's kingdom which he said never fails, unlike human governance.. this year's conversion attracted a historic attendance of more than 40,000 people from across the five districts in the province namely; ndola, kitwe, luanshya, mufulira, kalushi and chambishi.. gathered under the theme 'keep seeking first god's kingdom', witnesses filled the stadium and those who could not find seats monitored proceedings from outside.

Stephen Lett (Best to forget) should be the poster boy for Seniles Anonymous. Like the other dimwits on the GB, the poor man continually makes a fool of himself. He should make a LOT of speeches, to give us more to laugh about.

My advice: SHUT THE F UP!!!!! Stop attending and never darken the KH door again. Refuse all calls or requests for visits. Asking the elders to change their beliefs is like telling a rock to stop being a rock. Just remember, whatever negativity that comes from your 'revelations' to the Elders will be strictly on your shoulders. You have been warned!!! Don't cry about it when the S hits the fan!!!

Watchtower "litter-ature"
by Rufus T. Firefly inin the town where i live, it became customary some years ago for the pioneers to do the actual door-to-door work during the week, and their not-at-home records would provide the territory for the rank-and-file publishers on the weekends.
also, car groups of publishers would get an early start by driving around to the apartment complexes in their territory and leaving older issues of the magazines in the laundry rooms, a practice some called stealth witnessing.
many so-call publishers do nothing but stealth witnessing and wouldnt know how to actually talk to someone if they had to.

Here's a possible solution: Spread the word....anyone who has a well-used, worn-out stack of old porn mags lying around should drop them off at the front door of the nearest Kingdom Hall. Tit for tat!! For an added bonus, include those old VCR porn tapes that are collecting dust in your attic.

In reality, the Jehovah's Witness religion is mostly made up of, to put it politely, LOSERS!!! If you think that's where you belong, then by all means hightail it right back to the Organization. As they say: If the shoe fits, wear it.
