Millions die in Natural disasters - God is doing nothing. Do I adopt Anthropomorphism to him?
by KateWild ini do not think god is a'morphic.
god is not human, so hence he does not possess human characteristics, to know god better and to understand him better i study science.
there has been a new discovery of strange signals picked up from black holes and distant supernovae suggest there's more to space-time than einstein believed.

Folks, 'God' is a fairy tale dreamed up thousands of years ago by primitive people. Yet here we are...in. 2014.....and there are still people buying into it. Maybe they also believe in Santa Claus, the Tooth Fairy and the Easter Bunny. Come on, people....get real for Pete's sake!!

some friends familiar with wt gossip have told me that the decision to move out of ny was in part accelerated by the tragic events of 9/11.. my take on this is that decision to relocate was made a long time before, however they counter that a move was planned but not the total detachment that is occurring.. i wonder if anyone here has an opinion or information on this.. thanks.

next week's bible reading (Gen. 1-5) stumpers.for your "in" family conversations & sly comments.
by prologos inyou may add many, but here are two:.
1) vegetation made on day 3, animals formed day 5,6, but- then.
in gen 2, man seems to be the primary creation, and vegetation and then animals were formed from the dust and brought to him to name them.

Folks, it's all total nonsense. The entire store of Adam and Eve is as fictional as Star Wars. We are now in 2014.....and some people still insist on believing in fairy tales.

Let the Sun shine in - March Awake
by jws inhas this been covered yet?.
i was looking to download the new nwt from jw.org and stumbled across an awake on creation - march 2014 edition.
and it always interests me to see the latest spins they'll try to make creation sound plausible.. seems now they are implying the sun, moon, and stars were created when god said "let there be light".

Folks, the entire Bible account of creation is total BS to begin with. Why even bother trying to talk sense to anyone who still even gives credence to such childish hokum??

i know so many of us have gone through this, but it sure hurts.

JWs: What a bunch of weirdoes they are!!! All we can do is proclaim loudly and publicly how hurtful and anti- human their policies are. If the general public knew the REAL truth, far fewer people would answer the door to them, much less start a 'Bible' study with them.

It's been almost 2000 years since Jesus died. Face it folks, he's as dead as every other human being who has ever died in Humankind's eons of existence. He isn't going to 'return' visibly or invisibly. What part of 'DEAD' can't we understand?? Any when WE die, every one of us will be equally dead and gone....and not living in "Paradise Earth' or some made-up LaLa Land. Face the facts.....DEAD means DEAD!!! Yep, I know.....it's a drag but it's time to stop believing in fairy tales.

What the Watchtower has in store for 2014
by mistified inwhat, in detail, do you think will happen?
because we all know 2014 is the 100th anniversary of the kingdom rule of christ or at least it was..

The formerly low-key GB will take on a much more visible role, continuing their comedy routines at the future Annual Meetings. I look for video hookups in EVERY Kingdom Hall so the GB members can give regular direct admonishments to the 'sheep'. One more way of shoving Jesus into the background and making themselves the new unquestioned overseers of the Organization.

Goodbye to all
by abiather ini say goodbye to all of you because of the tremendous pressure from my family members who are jws.. anyhow, i enjoyed my association with you for a short period!
it is part of life, as the bible says: we are all temporary residents here (hebrews 11:13).
this is my favorite scripture that has helped me to remain always balanced and equi-poised, helping me not to be greedy towards things or people expecting from them too much!.

And I thought SCIENTOLOGY was the weirdest religion......but that Brahma Kumaris thing really tops them all. Anyway, good luck with whatever it is you decide to be involved in. Once you realize it's all a crock, come back here and we will gladly listen to your insights. Best wishes!!

If there's anything that convinces a Christian the Bible isn't infallible...
by ilikecheese init's got to be reading the old testament.
that is some messed up sh!t.. .
your choices are basically to think it's based on things that happened but men's version of events, there is tons of allegory, that it's just a bunch of made up nonsense, or to rip those parts of your bible out and pretend they don't exist.. .

The entire Bible is just a lot of made-up nonsense in my opinion. It's a book that has been used for eons to justify bigotry and intolerance. Science has improved FAR more human lives than the Bible ever has. Science marches on, while preachers blather on and on about the same old tired stories.
