Well, it's 8:35PM est (PA) and I just got home from work and I am supposed to be doing reports for my Friday morning meeting. Of course I am checking e-mail and taking a break - just tired of looking at numbers all day. Oh, yeah I still have to iron my shirt for in the morning as well, put of the ironing bit and now I have to, out of freshly ironed shirts.

Doors not to be done
by JH inthe last time i went out in the field service maybe 6 years ago, about 20% of doors in the territory were not to be done.
either there was a no jw sign at the door, or the person asked us to write it down in our notes not to come back, never.
i guess that percentage of doors not to be done must be higher today.

There was only about two territories that was actually a general DNC, due to the area. So instead of going door to door we went to the mall's and local business area's to "witness" to those walking by. I always made sure I knew when that area was coming up, after the 1 time I had to do that, man was that embarrassing - some of these JW's would damn near run "walkers" down until they stop or gave the international sign for "have a nice day now". (you know what I mean)

If there was just one person, just one..
by kproscts inthat you could now go back and confront or "speak" with who would it be.. during my df'ing there was actually 4 elders, 1 had to leave during the process due to a medical reason with the family, 1 i really had not issue with, and 1 was a life long friend of the family who's daughter was df'd by my father.
the other however, man i would love to be able to just debate with this guy.
he flat out lied 4 x's during the proceeding and i busted him everytime, nothing was done and nothing was said.

The other however, man I would love to be able to just debate with this guy. He flat out lied 4 X's during the proceeding and I busted him everytime, nothing was done and nothing was said. He was a younger elder, who's younger brother was Df'd, this guy just thought he was king of the hill and all that. It was a total power trip for him and the more I jammed him or questioned him or his movtives for lying the more "it was on between us" - yeah I lost that battle. Difference is now having been out for years and grown as I have, well I would really enjoy another face to face, he would not be able to bully me around as he did then! I told him all those years ago that the way he treated his two sons they would rebel. Found out just this past weekend the one son was Df'd <-- I am truely sorry for both of this son's as his father is an ass, overbearing, control freak and it's just sad that so many kids are lost to this. Well, just had the thought running through my head and wondered about you guys and what kind of stories would come about.
Don't get me wrong there are plenty but due to the obvious, he would have to be the one.

It was the night of or shortly there after the Memorial, there was an elders meeting and I was stuck with my dad waiting for him to get out (it went into the wee hours of the night sometimes) me and another elder's son were goofing off and were starting to get ticked that we were still here. Anyway, we popped our heads into the room they were in and the elders were toasted off of the wine, well someone left one of the bottles at the door - well we snatched it... we weren't so upset after that.

War Never Solved Anything: Ok Except: Slavery, Mass Genocide & Communism – to name a few.
It was a conspiracy to go into Iraqi; there was no good reason:
Ok Except, tell that to those who were and the families of those who were in: torture chambers, rape chambers, those slaughtered by mass genocide at the hands of the Iraqi leader(s) Oh Yeah, testing their Bio & Chemical weapons (but they had none?), children sold in slave markets – to name a few.
Peace is not indicative of the absence of or threat of War!America Has Done Nothing for the World:
Ok Except, I guess an argument could be made for the changes in: Germany, France, South Korea, Russia, Hong Kong, Japan, Iraqi and some would say China – to name a few.
The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing!
While we can disagree on any number of issues I think we can all agree on one thing. Having the freedom to speak our peace & beliefs and a place such as this site, is something we can all be thankful for.

"We're Asking You to Leave"
by Black Man inthat's bethelite speak for "you're fired".
it's false advertising, that if you make it through your first year there, you're home-free or off probation.
you're being watched at all times, unless you're a heavy or have been there for years.

How long were you in? While you were there what was the average length of service of the people you worked with? What kind of guideliness or expectations did they give you when you started?
It would be interesting to know those numbers and why were these folks never heard from again when the were "asked to leave"?

All of my family is still in and I would love to get my Mom and a couple others out. I have been thinking lately about how to go about it, you have to share anything that works or went poorly, just FYI for us.
I have come to believe that if I reference anything other than factual information, they will not listen. It CAN'T be an attack on Jehovah, but more so the WT & GB. So I am in the process of putting this all together.
My problem is my mom has been in so long and holds on so hard that if I were able to shake her "faith", it would crush her world and she would be devisated that she "shuned" me and my brother for all of these years.
I don't know which would be worse, to continue as we are limited contact and just dealing with the BS or to go for it and win and have her devistated like that?
Good luck to you though and drop a line about how it goes.

One thing about Clinton...
by Abaddon in... was that no one was ever accused of being unpatriotic if they hammered him.
now, of course, w might be a paragon of virtue in comparison, at least with regard to oral sex in the oval office, but many people who have criticised aspects of his presidency have had all sorts of accusations rained down upon their heads.
i found this article an interesting discussion.

Yeah, keep asking questions - you get answer you don't want to hear, but keep asking - they'll keep telling you the same thing. Never ceases to amaze me. I think Susan S is holding another meeting, quick you can still make it.
