I would have felt a smidgin better if lil Sophia's thoughts had reflected images of children in the Sudan starving and a link to how Jesus has the answer etc and how the money could help to foster a programme of help for such-like ones in the world. In the absence of PMS issues [I am male] I used to suffer from the sudden onset of migraines- which necessitated me having to take a lot of fresh air, get to a pharmacy for medication - usually in a shopping mall - or just plain go home.
You could try Sudoku - put a Chess app on your phone/device - use earphones and listen to Muzak - doodle - walk someone's baby in the pram / stroller [if you're female] - in my late teens back in the 70's when CA's were 2.5 days and ran until 9 pm at night we used to slip away to a corner shop that had a pinball machine and spend some time there. Also at stadium venues we used to volunteer for the overnight "guard" duty of the site and that meant we could go and sleep during the day time session - usually in a camper / caravan - which could be locked from the inside and made to look very unoccupied from the outside.
For these and the 5 day DA's we would volunteer for kitchen duty which could get you away from your seat for entire sessions [they had the program piped into the prep area via speakers] and this also enabled us to meet le femme's as well.

10 minute [my.nute] parts so that you cant get creative and put some really "deep" thoughts of your own into the material. And then the little piece of outline you get with the assignment is now technically a manuscript - And of course you do know that Uber-brother Assembly Overseer is sitting in his office following your every word with a copy of your outline just in case you decide to go "extremist" and put in a side-ways thought or two !

first of all i would like to thank orphancrow for his fascinating and insightful research into the jws during world war 2.. this got me thinking however of a very similar situation i heard about in zimbabwe, and what i am wanting to know if anyone can confirm or deny his account.. i was having a conversation with a black brother from zimbabwe while out in field service about the persecution the brothers would be enduring under the rulership of robert mugabe.

Prayer During District Assemblies
by Tenacious inthere's something that i've always wondered about yet could never truly understand.
does anyone know why during district assemblies a prayer is done during the last day after coming back from lunch?.
i can't quite remember if it's done other days but i believe this is done on the last day.

Yep - its because the Talk immediately after the Sunday lunch is the Public Talk - always given by the Uber - Officer
And if you have a winky you can reach out to be selected to give the prayer !If you are the Chairman for the PM session of course - but you can reach out to be chairman too !! Privileges !!

As to their mental state you have simply got to read the Steve Hassan books esp the latest to at least make some sense of what is going on in their minds and what went on and may still be going on in your own.

The frustration and angst among some of you dear folk is so tangible especially you whose life-partners are riding on another set of tracks here. I personally feel for you.
I live in a home where we share the house with another "in" family member and in-law sibling and I have just been told that the house is to go on the market as we cannot co-exist under the same roof [My wife and I are faded but not DF-ed] So my life after 6 decades must now be uprooted and we have to start all over again because we are not acceptable. This person flat out refuses to discuss any of the differences - "you will not change me even though you are trying" - Well I am not trying to change the person - I am just asking them to consider where and why we are where we are at this point in time. Bashing my head with a brick will be more pleasurable at this stage.
