i can't quite remember if it's done other days but i believe this is done on the last day.

I live in a home where we share the house with another "in" family member and in-law sibling and I have just been told that the house is to go on the market as we cannot co-exist under the same roof [My wife and I are faded but not DF-ed] So my life after 6 decades must now be uprooted and we have to start all over again because we are not acceptable. This person flat out refuses to discuss any of the differences - "you will not change me even though you are trying" - Well I am not trying to change the person - I am just asking them to consider where and why we are where we are at this point in time. Bashing my head with a brick will be more pleasurable at this stage.

i was on the jw.org website today and decided to watch a video entitled 'respect jehovah's authority'.
to my surprise approximately 3mins 25secs into the video, as the opening title began to fade, a symbol of the all seeing eye (eye of horus) appeared on the screen.
the scene was not set in egypt, but in a hebrew tent in the wilderness where praise was being sung to jehovah!!
not sure if my title is correct.
what i noticed is that in say secular bible research documentation, books, lectures etc, one never (or at least i have never read it) reads a quote from one of the former or current wbts leaders nor do i ever see a reference to one of their publication (unless it is article about the jw/wbts itself).. for example, if you read a book on a bible theme or topic written by a scholar or other bible teachers/professors from prof xyz, you will find often in these books a reference to publications / statements / quotes from other scholars or professors.
but never have i seen a reference to say a wt publication or quote / statement from one the leaders of the organisation.. so, despite the million page printed or conferences organised by the wbts, the material apparently is never considered of value to others or to use as reference material.. in my view, that says a lot..... or am i wrong?

i was just thinking that it seems like the gb teaches witnesses to be dishonest and disobediant...and encourages a kind of "secret agent" mystique about such conduct.
a boldness to act this way.. they use "theocratic warfare" tactics by saying we can be dishonest with authorities if we are acting by "gods standards..".. they teach parents to do the same with their kids...teach them to outrightly disobey laws "if they contravene the gb standards" (eg flag salute, voting in politics etc...).
it is ok to lie about "future fairy tale paradise".
Not obeying the AUTHORITIES in everything does have merit in the human scheme of things - eg Thanks to the Protestant break-aways who stood firm on principles when being persecuted in Europe. [Louis XIV et al]
I went to military prison for refusing to join the army back in 1974 and that decision was a good one - South Africa was fighting a "bullshit" war in Angola which was just an excuse to get fingers on Angola's oil - that decision spared me possible injury or loss of life.
So disobeying civil authority under certain circumstances has its place in my reckoning. Its about Principles
I still will not Salute Flags sing anthems and the like because essentially governmental systems don't merit this - so standing firm on Principles has its place in our lives.
By the same token I will not give allegiance to any grouping of men in the religious context either.
