Year 3: Personal Experiences
by Londo111 inhttp://youtu.be/nnnabt9x5lm?list=plynx0om_bmgdobkrzev2tax1jzdquagy8.
this is my third year since i signed up on jwn and i wanted to do something a bit different--a slight unmasking of sorts and greet everyone face to face.
even with the help of a few notes, this is rambling, raw, and by no means the best personal experience video out there.

No mention of 100 years of kingdom rule at zone meeting
by kneehighmiah ini expected the streaming of such a large meeting to focus on 100 years of kingdom rule.
not a single mention.
instead more drivel about insignificant things like yoga pants.

I thought it was oddly absent as well. All that hype about 100 years and then nothing.....
The way they moved on so abruptly should tell you something. It was never anything they actually had any emotion about. It was a big smokescreen and now they are done with it for the most part.
Enough celebrating the imaginary anniversary....back to the carrot/stick routine!

My Yoke is Kindly and My load is Light! What did this scripture mean to you as a JW?
by BU2B injesus said that "my yoke is kindly and my load is light" what did this scripture mean to you when you were mentally in?
did you feel the jw load was kindly and light?
if not, what was the point in him uttering those words?
-
TTATTelder
That scripture is just used for manipulation in JW land.
The load is light - not because it actually is - but because Jesus said so. Here is the script:
....
"What do you mean you are frustrated, tired, and depressed from a bull crap life of organizational servitude?
Jesus said right here in scripture that his yoke is kindly and his load is light.
So apparently you aren't _____ enough. Apparently you aren't doing enough _____.
(Fill in the blanks with whatever guilt trip you prefer from the vast menu available from the Faithful Slave.)"

Is the WTS effectively 'pimping out' sisters?
by Simon ini can't remember the topic with the discussion about the talk where they suggested that sisters should only consider ministerial servants as potential marriage partners but think about the implications more.. are they trying to use the potential affections of sisters to enourage brothers to do more and work harder?.
isn't this a form of 'pimping out' the sisters by limiting their attention to the people contributing to them?.
it seems to cross a line to me but i guess it's not vastly different to "only marry another jw".. what do you think?.

Somebody needs to tell these horny wannabe-MS's that JW born-in girls (because of years of guilt/fear indoctrination) have serious guilt issues when it comes to sex.
It's fools gold.
The GB guides the girl to a MS's bed. Ok... Seems good so far... The problem is the GB never leave the room!
They will not be crawling in bed with just their new wife. All seven of the governing body members will be laying there too.

Is the Society trying to self sabotage?
by truthseeker ini'm not going to list all the changes here that have happened in 2014, most of you who frequent the boards know about them.. in reference to anthony morris' talk, i can't help feel that the organization is behaving so abnormally out of character for itself that it is bewildering even to ex jws.. cultish behavior is perfectly normal for cults, but whats happened this year is so far out of whack it beggars belief.. what do they think they are doing?
are they psyching jws up for some major announcement?.
i can't help but feel that something really strange is going on, this does not feel like the regular "special announcements" followed by articles in the watchtower.. .

I think the "mainstreaming" is more marketing and PR than anything else.
It's a veneer to lure people in and keep people, that are in, confused or dazzled by the "shiny" objects.
What we saw from AMIII this weekend is a glimpse at what this organization is at its core. Behind the shiny veneer this organization is abusive and tyrannical.
It will and does eat its own young. Comments in recent and past watchtowers alluding to killing apostates, the constant threats of death at Armageddon to any who aren't completely in line, the fanning of the class envy flames, etc. etc. These notions all tell quite a darker tale than will ever be seen in a Caleb cartoon.
The GB live in a delusional bubble of imagined authority over all humans on earth. They are entitlted to your devotion. "God says so" according to them. They will eventually weed out any who do not worship them and regularly feed the beast (organization). They want a leaner organization of uber-followers. They do not want murmurers and fence sitters.
In the meantime they will continue to cut overhead and seek additional avenues of revenue. In other words run their money-making business.

My messagew to my mother post "branch talk".
by problemaddict 2 inmy wife went out of curiosity.
she is out enough to where it doesn't affect our marriage, but she keeps it a secret from her family and others.
she is beginning to understand what it means to give over your thinking to an organization, and once she works that out there will be no going back.. so she went to the branch visit.

Man it's crazy how they double-down so quick and resort to judgment and damnation. Nothing logical. Nothing level-headed or calm. All over-reaction desperate emotional drama.
judgemental tone of this ranting moron
6 words sent her over the edge. That's how fragile the whole belief system is. She went straight to "my hope", "my loving father", " loving international brotherhood", "God's kingdom", "Jesus ransom Sacrifice". ....Good grief.
You see how indocrinated they are to believe the GB members are connected to God at the hip. You speak even remotely negative about them you are disrespecting God himself.
So sad. Sorry you have to deal with this. Thanks for sharing.

How does forum moderation work?
by Simon inwe've had a few comments lately that show that people don't seem to fully comprehend the way moderation works or the point of it.. if someone point something that other people don't like or agree with then that is a difference of opinion.
live with it.. if someone posts something that is crude, insulting, contains bad language etc.
then it violates the posting guildelines and can and should be removed.. now, sometimes we won't immediately notice a post that should be removed.

Hey you can't please everybody Simon. I say don't sweat it and do what you think is best.
I appreciate this forum and have enjoyed having it available.
