They are popular in the Philippines for supporting candidates during election and overall getting respect from the government, same as how it treats Catholics and Muslims.
By the way, my Filipino friend told me that Iglesia just built that arena, the biggest in the world. Look it up.
i am sure this topic has probably been discussed many times before but,......... i would like reassurance that i am not the only one who gagged every time i heard a jw pontificating on their fantasy version of what "paradise" will be like.

I never believed in the JW's story of paradise. I studied for so many years and got baptized because I guess I needed a sense of belonging. I wanted to believe I could meet my father again after his death. But, paradise... it is still very strange to me.
yes, you read correctly..... all appointed men have been told in a new letter that they have to pioneer to "set the lead" whenever there is a "special" campaign month.
they use some scripture saying that these ones have to show by example.... so for any of us who are appointed and have learned ttatt, it is going to be very hard to fade during this time!.

for over thirty years i observed among jws the phenomenon of co worship/idolatry.
i, myself, was somewhat guilty of it even though i rather quickly caught on and detected something wrong.. think about the week of the co visit.
during that week most attention is given to and most thought is about the co. the supposed sovereign of the universe takes a backseat.
I've never cared about CO visits. Always felt like they were extremely pampered and spoiled. Field circus was a joke. The last CO was a sweaty pompous guy who did not have finesse.. was quite rude and goofy.
New CO visited last week, I heard. Of course, I never showed up during the entire week.
All that "upbuilding" stuff is fake.

i understood that i had neglected my children when they most needed my guidance and affection, admits eduardo.
i had not been there to read them bible stories, to pray with them, to cuddle them, and to play with them.
I have a few Filipino friends, and I know too well what many go through in that country. This week and the previous week's articles only irritates me. The nerve. Many Filipino experience calamities and have to endure corruption from the government, crimes, etc. Even people earning regularly would be broke instantly if they get sick and need hospitalization. A month's treatment for cancer is already half a year's pay for many Filipinos.
WT is very callous and ends up denigrating these people who have no other choice.
And by the way, not all Filipinos work abroad as domestic helpers. One of my friends is working as a physician in the US; the other, a chemical engineer.
