Almost 90% Of JWs are embarrassed about their own beliefs and are always hesitant to open up a conversation to the public and they all do it for counting hours only. This was my experience in the Cult and I had also been doing the same.

Welcome Smiddy
Cold Steel. Thanks for your long explanation but anything from the Bible doesn't impress me now, as I had found it to be a collection of myths and superstitions, a long time ago

Jehovah being such a powerful GOD, (As we all once believed), cant remove the ban in Singapore for his most important preaching work. If this JW religion is all real, Cant Jah lift the ban in Singapore in no time. All the Babylonian religions are free to Practice there but not the true Religion, worshiping the true Almighty god.
There is a huge Hindu temple in Singapore, dedicated to Lord Muruga, a prominent Indian God. I can only conclude that Jehovah is less powerful than Muruga, assuming both GODs are real.
Jehovah, the almighty owner of this Universe, is not allowed in a tiny nation. Poor thing, this Jah!

Doing your own research
by Reazon22 inwe all know watchtower doesn't encourage their members do research for themselves.
can anyone point out any articles where it mentions this?
any help would be appreciated.

When I was in , I was advised that the Governing Body members are equivalent to qualified research Scholars and know everything and we should only stick on to their Explanations, no matter even if we don't understand them.
In their terminology, Research means digging it from their own publications. This sounded weird to me even then, and may be that's why I turned out to be an Apostate.

Watchtower teaches that Jesus dying on the stake is no longer certain
by Listener inthe watchtower has held for many years that jesus died on a stake and held strongly to this teaching.
w 1951 3/15 the above agrees with the new world translation of the christian greek scriptures in its appendix, page 769, in saying that the instrument upon which jesus was nailed was a stake without a crossbeam, and not the religiously represented “cross”; and that the greek word used for that instrument in ancient time meant a “stake” and not the conventional religious cross.
they are no longer certain on this point.

First of all why does an innocent man need to die for others(Sinners). Isn't this injustice ?
Moreover, what has Jesus Death brought for mankind ? Nothing, except the illusionary and hypothetical reasoning that he died for us , washed our sins and paid the ransom. Even if we accept this nonsensical human ransom theory, shouldn't have Jesus Death eliminated all sufferings and brought a Paradise Earth, right then and there ? When the price is paid, we get the benefit. That's how things work, right from the beginning.
Whether he died on a cross or a stake is another empty argument and reasoning based on a useless outcome.

The spinning blade of a Sword and the 2 Angels guarding the gate....
by stuckinarut2 infor some reason i found myself shaking my head once again in disbelief at the story in genesis.. amongst all things, the very concept of a "flaming sword" spinning around and blocking the "entrance to the garden of eden" is so stupid!.
do people really believe that as a fact?.
seriously, swords were not even invented at that time!

Flaming sword" spinning around and blocking the "entrance to the garden of Eden" is all real and exists until now. But invisible , just like Jesus ruling invisibly now.

Last Memorial Experiences
by NoviceLocs14 ini'll share mine first.... i had never missed a memorial for at least a quarter of a century of my life.
i was kind of raised to believe that missing the memorial was a sin in itself.. by 2013 memorial season, i was missing most of my meetings (even though i was still technically part of my foreign language congregation), and i had just come off the pioneer list.
i still made plans to attend the memorial (god forbid if i missed that lol).. i knew that typically our memorials were around 9 pm, since we usually got last priority (being a foreign language hall and all).

To all those who still feel the same, just ponder over what the memorial is all about. Don't fall for the JW pressure that this is a very important and holy event. It is a cannibalistic practice of eating the flesh and drinking the blood of another human, to attain salvation, king-hood, or whatever non-sense. Even though the emblems are symbolic, it is still a cannibalistic ritual.(Symbolic cannibalism though )
This disgusting ritual for sure, was a practice among most of the ancient tribes to appease their gods and was borrowed by the Biblical Writers.
As for my experience, I missed the very first memorial after having awakened myself. Lot of dubs were terribly shocked though. I didn't give a damn, coz by that time I was thoroughly convinced that this was all fake. (Having read "Crisis of Conscience" cover to cover)

If the Bible is made as a full length feature film, with every passage interpreted exactly as a scene on the screen, what rating would it get. R, RR, RRR ?
