This show is great. It has to be dumbed down to play on primetime television on a major network such as FOX. It's really amazing that they got the greenlight to do it. I wish more witnesses would watch it. It'd cause some to question teachings.

i am setting up a podcast (radio show) where we will cover the issues of jw's, amongst the topics of science, belief and more.. i am letting you guys know because i would like to interact with the forum as we do them, looking for suggestions for topics, looking for guest ideas and also we can mask voies and change names, so interviewing current jw's to help provide people a voice, an outlet for their frustration whilst providing a safety net.

there is no hierarchy, but current elders, bethelites etc that contribute here already will be more than welcome and protected!.

the podcast will be pro science, i will have both atheist and theist co-presenters in the episodes but i can't deny my bias towards evidence and science, but hopefully it should be enjoyable and informative for us all.. i plan for it to be about 2hrs long, maybe an episode a month or every 2 or 3 weeks.

the congregation i'm associated with had their assembly recently and i decided to go for one day.

i could not believe how much it felt like one of those mega churches you see on tv.

they've added now 2 very large tv screens on each side of the speaker as well as a monstrous projection screen above.

@fastJehu - That's how it used to look. Now they have two more tv screens much larger than the ones already on the wall plus a large projection screen centered over top the stage!

The congregation I'm associated with had their assembly recently and I decided to go for one day. I could not believe how much it felt like one of those mega churches you see on TV. They've added now 2 very large TV screens on each side of the speaker as well as a monstrous projection screen above. That’s an addition to the two screens that were already on the walls displaying the yearly text and assembly theme text. During the whole assembly the two larger TV’s and the projection screen displayed the speaker. It was extremely distracting and unnecessary. The amount of money they must of spent on this is staggering. What's worse is they made an announcement that part of the surplus of donations would be put towards another AV upgrade as mandated by the society for assembly halls. I guess this is something that will be the norm. It's absolutely ridiculous they can justify spending this huge waste of money on something like this.

they love to quote the verse "you must not make tattoo markings upon yourself," to "prove" that witlesses should not have body art.. yet the word tattoo is maori in origin.

how the hell did moses know a maori word???.

in every other translation it says you must not make cutting marks.

Jehovah's witness meetings are NOT BORING......

...i was told but they usually were as i look back.. as a lad i'd sit and look to see who the lights would fall on.

i'd get an almond and see how long i could suck it before i chewed at it.

i'd imagine playing rock'n'roll on the congregation's piano.. how did you get through the meetings when you were bored?.

Meetings are the worst but the society just gave us all a gift. If you have a tablet you can now catch up on reading, surf the internet, play a game, ect during the meeting so easily. It's actually made my once a month visit a lot more bearable. I listen as long as I can until I get pissed off then I read my book!
