How Will the Society React to the Hundred Year Anniversary of 1914?
by slimboyfat init's only a couple of years away now and what a headache it must present to the gb - providing they have given it much thought already.
there probably is no elegant way of presenting the hundred year long failure of the end to come; the fact that the "short period of time" of satan being cast down to the earth has now stretched beyond any credibility.
but they have to deal with it one way or another.

I'm ignorant. I have no idea what this is. Is it bad for me to admit this?

Something about the end of the current system of things they can't pony up to...
by okage in1975 was approaching and for years the society demanded the belief that god instructed these men of bethel to declare 1975 as the date for the end.
they talked about it in conventions.
they supported it in many of their publications.

It's frustrating that "they" say this was never taught. What outright lies. A young family in our congregation in PA gave up everything. The couple had three young children, the dad had a good job for Piper Airline, they had a nice home. The father quit his job, they sold the house (irionically to the PO!) and moved to a remote area of the state to preach the end. After a couple of years the money had run out. They were living in a (practically) abandoned house, scraping for money for food and heat. I've lost track of them but wondered what became of them. Such a nice family.

Thanks to everyone who has helped. I'm bumping this back up!
I'll let everyone know if she makes it to the finals. She's a hard worker, very creative, and wants to move back to Michigan. She has friends who work and live in the city. There's a growing community of young, smart, creative people coming back and hoping to make a difference.

I have Celiac Disease so must not eat any gluten. It's really not that difficult. I am a baker and can make just about anything (though I do buy packaged bread, Udi's). And I do feel lots better! There are a couple of brands of imported GF beer that are pretty good, just can't remember them right now.
