So now the elder coordinator (sounds a bit like a position on a cruise ship for some odd reason) has all the same responsibility but perhaps less authority to make it happen.
It seems like a formula for increased 'groupthink' on the BOE.
here's the text of the letter:.
christian congregation of jehovah's witnesses.
to all bodies of elders.

So what was the original Greek term for "coordinator of the body of elders" again?
(actually the word "overseer" pretty well conveys the meaning of episkopos , cf: acts 20:28, phil 1:1, 1 tim 3:2, titus 7, 1 peter 2:25)
an interesting article on the bbc news homepage about a scheme to store blood taken from umbilical cords.. .

The official WT response:
*** w97 2/1 p. 29 Questions From Readers ***If there is very good reason to believe that such a practice is followed in the hospital where a Christian will give birth, it would be proper simply to direct the physician that the placenta and the umbilical cord should be disposed of, not used in any way.
Check it out: http://www.marrow.org/DONOR/Donation_Transplant_Process/The_Donation_Procedure/CB_Donation/index.html
Often, the red blood cells and plasma, which are not needed for transplants, are removed so the CBU [cord blood unit] takes less storage space.
Why coudn't a JW use cord blood that had red blood cells and plasma removed? It's the stem cells that are important for transplant. These are very same type of cells that are transplanted from bone marrow, which is an acceptable procedure for witnesses. Interestingly, white blood cells and red blood cells (reticulocytes) exist in transplanted bone marrow...
Even if the RBCs and plasma are not removed, the WT stated on 5/15/1984, p. 31 in a QFR that a bone marrow transplant would be a "personal decision", even though " the withdrawn marrow may have some blood with it." So we see that the WTS position on cord blood is totally inconsistent with their position on bone marrow transplants.

i think madonna thinks she's a real hottie.
i don't.. julia roberts is still the pretty woman.. .
Sarah Jessica Parker is on the "aren't really" category, I agree.
Hot: I'll go with an unorthodox choice...there's something about Julieta Venegas.

Interesting alternate explanation:
http://www.panspermia.org/oseti.htm
In its strongest version, panspermia holds that intelligent life can only descend from prior intelligent life. Logically, therefore, intelligent life must have always existed, and what we have called "evolutionary progress" would actually be the local development of pre-existing, highly evolved life. This theory is fully scientific; there is nothing supernatural about it. I am attempting to name it Cosmic Ancestry. It responds to the informed criticism that Darwinism does not account for evolutionary progress.Furthermore, Cosmic Ancestry does not extend science beyond its proper realm. Science can never answer some questions, like "Why is there anything at all?" According to Cosmic Ancestry, "Why is there intelligent life?" is another question that science cannot answer. Intelligent life appears to have always existed. Until evolutionary progress in a closed system is demonstrated, that’s as far as science can pursue the matter. Meanwhile, creationists are free to call intelligent life a miracle. Dissolving the disagreement between science and religion, we can turn to new questions. For example,
- Under what circumstances, if any, is evolutionary progress in a closed system possible?
- How could the big bang theory accommodate life from the eternal past?
- How does intelligent life arrive and develop?
is the wbts under the assumption that householders will suspect that witnesses charge money for their bible studies?
as often as the wbts prints that the world is fully aware of the witnesses and what they do and teach, i can't imagine that anybody would think that the jws ask for payment for services when it comes to bible studies.
it was in the watchtower study yesterday, i think in the very first paragraph.
Like the local drug pusher. First one is "free"!
being brought up a j.w no one ever gave an accurate description of why the dinosaurs where actually put on the earth by jehovah.
if i ask this question to my parents now they still dont have an answer that makes any sense.
so far ive had .
We just went to a national park where a triassic phytosaur (crocodile-like reptile) fossil of a was on display which bore a big tooth gash from another of its kind. The park ranger showed us a fossilized tooth that fit right into the gash. This animal came before the heyday of the dinosaurs.
Really, dinosaurs are a small piece of the pie when it comes to extinct species. It's estimated 1-4 billion species of plant and animal life have lived on the earth, with only 50 million living today.
That means that only 1 - 5 percent of all life forms that have existed on the earth are alive today.

It's just another one of their ploys to instil and project the sense that they are "oh so much better" than everyone else who dare to pose as teachers of the Bible.
The unspoken sentiment that goes hand in hand with this is: "We don't charge like Christendom does!"
(whether or not all Bible teaching outside of JW-dom charges or not is irrelevant. A sweeping generalization based on anectode is good enough)
2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014. january 1, 2015. .
less than seven years remain before we see january 1, 2015. what will the watchtower's message be then?.
how can they explain to the flock that jesus christ is now ruling in his 101st year?.
You're right. I think the WTS has been gradually severing 1914 of its time-based limitations. I think it will simply boil down to being the place marker for the beginning of the "last days", when Christ kicked Satan out of heaven and took the throne. I think they can still spin the whole divine appointment, FDS thing however they want to suit their needs without ditching that date.
Edited to add an afterthought: Even if the 1914 date weren't dropped, a natural effect of stripping that date of any relevant, direct implications on what happens TODAY, the date loses its significance. It becomes just an odd footnote.
So I guess I'm starting to agree more with truthseeker that the onset of 2014 will be significant, whether 1914 is dropped or not!
