  the old bailey heard abdalla yones, 48, murdered 16-year-old heshu at their home, in acton, west london, on 12 october 2002 because he feared she was becoming westernised.

  What did you think about the Bible Tapes?

  when i was 19 i worked construction with my dad and he always played the bible tapes during the 45 min drive to and from work.

  i didn't think much about it until a few years ago i listened to tapes of the bible from a company called "back to the bible" man, what a difference!.

  the wtbs tapes used an extremely authoratative voice.... with almost pissed off over tones.

  hey guys, hamas has admitted to me he could not keep away from this board -- this is actually a serious question -- i have found i have become addicted and just can not stay away or stop posting -- every morning and evening -- sometimes at lunchtime -- and certainly most weekends i come on this board -- am i normal?

  is it just me and hamas or are there others out there addicted to simon's damn board?

  Each day I tell myself that I wont visit this site, and each day I fail. ...I'm so pathetic!

  Oh, and the fact I've just been promoted to senior member is just embarrassing (but strangely rewarding..!)

  Riding in the Backseat - A JW Rule?

  the jws have some peculiar rules regarding doing things with the opposite sex.

  truly, the most bizzare one has to be the one about if a "brother" is driving along and he sees a "sister" waiting for a bus and he offers her a ride, in most cases he will make her sit in the backseat.

  even more likely, the "sister" will turn down the ride because it may "stumble" someone who may see them together.

  It was the same here in Surrey. If you saw a sister waiting at a bus stop, you either had to ignore her, or get her to sit in the back seat. It gets worse. I was reported to the elders on several occations for sitting next to a sister ON A BUS!!! Thats right, on public transport! What were we supposed to be doing? After telling the elders to get a life and to stop interfering with mine, I was no longer allowed the priviledge of "doing the microphones"

  There were many occations where brothers and sisters worked in the same town but were not allowed to travel to work together in the same car...Idiocy to the max!

  Vicki Boer, Watchtower Society and Money

  i think the decision by the judge to force vicki to pay the society's legal fees even though she won the case is just fundamentally unfair.

  this lady was hurt by her father and the society obviously did something that at the very, very, least was not helpful in her case.

  it would seem to me that if the jws really are the christians they claim to be, that they would not be seeking to send this legal bill to someone who has already been through so much.

  I think you're confusing the Witnesses with Christianity. Of course they're looking to claw back the money spent on the case because clawing money is the reason they exist. I wouldnt be surprised if they now sue Vicky for every penny she doesnt have. I cant imagine this case will be common knowledge with the rank and file, seeing as she actually won the case. I'll be highlighting these points with every single Dub I know. My heart goes out to Vicky and her family who have been through years of torment, only to trampled over by this idiotic ruling.
