Queen's live killers is great, but nothing can compare with Princes One nite alone - live. About as close to perfect as a live album deserves to be...class

the Watchtower defendants claim they should not be held liable for doing more than most churches would do under similar circumstances:
In it, the Watchtower defendants again raised the First Amendment as a bar to the litigation, but more to the point, claimed that under Texas law, they owed no duty to protect the plaintiff from the crimes of a fellow congregant.
F&$"ing weasles.
Great article. With such an unrepentant attitude I smell a comeuppance around the corner.

Yay ... we're staying up !
by Simon in.
after those traitors portsmouth failed to act as our safety cushion at the bottom the the premiership and stormed up the league, we needed things to work out this weekend.. our victory yesterday again newcastle (sorry gadget & kenuk) plus bolton's 4-1 thrashing of leeds means that it practially guaranteed that leeds join leicester & wolves gonig down to division 1 instead of us !.
man city ... lowest club not to be relegated - what a result !

If man city had gone down, we'd have seen Keegan cry on TV and no one wants to see that. I'm glad Leeds are gone, but secretly hoped Spurs would have dropped. Oh well, theres always next season.

Were you ever "rewarded" for your faithful service?
by Jonty Parkin in"rewards" for faithful service sometimes used to come in the most unlikely manner.
to illustrate; the "privillege" of being a young microphone handler occasionally yielded its wholesome dividends of an unexpected nature.
for example, when i was once on microphone duty as a young aspirant ministerial slave, i was rewarded with an edifying flash of theocratic tit when a sister leant forward to give her comment.

During a very hot summer, I refused to wear a jacket while on microphone duty. The PO decided to bollock me and remove all my previledges. (funny how they make the crappy jobs sound better by calling them "priviledges" ) The following sunday during the WT study, this same elder was stood spouting the usual rubbish when he just keeled over on the platform. The thermometer was reading over 100 and this jerk refused to take off his jacket and loosen his tie, even though we had no aircon. He was OK though, but very embarriesed.
I guess my reward wasnt for faithful service, but it sure made me chuckle....

have you become a Christian since leaving the JW's.....if so why?
by digderidoo inmany people i have spoke to on this site have found that becoming part of a christian group since leaving the witnesses has been of benefit to them.
i must admit at times i have considered visiting other churches or religions, but have not acted upon it.
but i am curious as to what's out there.. can anyone enlighten me?.

I can't stand "Christians"...
Thats the same narrow-minded attitude I had until I started reading posts on this site. Yeah, I still dislike the smug arrogance of many christian sects, but for every braindead moronic christian you meet, you'll meet a generally good egg like littletoe.

Parents don't understand...
by überRabbit inmy parents just don't understand why i don't want to be part of the jehovah's witnesses organization.
it's not that i don't believe jesus' teachings, but i believe that the society has taken it too far.
they read too deep into god's words, that they end up putting training wheels on everyone.

Welcome rabbit,
You sound like me a few years back and I can remember how much my life sucked. All I can say is listen to the advice that people give you on this board, and then decide what you want to do. You have so many options that will start opening up for you and as long as you make the right ones, that are right for YOU personally, I'm sure you'll do fine.
Good luck

Arsenal are Champions!!
by yxl1 inarsenal have taken the premiership from manu, and done it in style.
yesterdays game would have been the icing on the cake if it wasn't for the idiocy of lehmann in the closing minutes of extra time.
even you manc fans have to admit that winning the league unbeaten is a real accomplishment.

Totally agree Simon.
I'd say that 2002 was the hiccup, and not 98. Guess we'll all have to wait 'till 2006 to watch the yanks slapped back down. ; )

Did you give your children 'Bible names'?
by nicolaou ini have to admit that we gave our first two kids 'hebrew' names.
i don't want to identify my children online but suffice to say that we had at least some sense in that we opted for safe names of the samuel and daniel type - no melchizedeks!.
however, in our city we had a javan a samson [gen 10:2] and even a zechariah!

except when they are so unusual that a child might get picked on because of their name
That would be mine.....
... and mine

We've done it!! Arsenal have taken the premiership from ManU, and done it in style. Yesterdays game would have been the icing on the cake if it wasn't for the idiocy of Lehmann in the closing minutes of extra time. Even you Manc fans have to admit that winning the league UNBEATEN is a real accomplishment. Now, lets hope they can finish the league without a loss.
For now, all eyes will head to the bottom of the table...thats where the real excitment is (unless you're a Liverpool,Newcastle,Villa, or Chelsea fan trying to get into Europe)
Tis the year of the Gooner!!!!
