Resurrection
by barbar inif a person is resurrected, are they really the same person?.
it is a bit difficult to explain this, but are they not a copy of the original person (all of the cells are new) with just the memory etc reinstalled?.
it seems to me that even if resurrection were real then it would not be the actual person who was resurrected but an image of them who thought, acted and remembered the same as the original.

This thread was done very recently, but off we go again. It is an interesting subject.
The way it went was........We were told that when you die, that's it pfffffft, nothing left, all gone, back to dust. Nothing but a memory.
Therefore any resurection would be a copy. We'd be cheated, a copy with all the memories. You could just as easy make 2.
The other side is.....if the concious stays on, that means there is life after death and that shoots holes in the dub belief again!
An easier question is "How long is a piece of string" or "would you like a cup of tea" HHGTTG

Are You Gullible?
by minimus inhave you ever wondered whether we are too easy to believe what people say they are?
it seems that sometimes we get posters that masquerade as down and out, searching, or very sincere----when, in fact, they are none of these things.
i know we want to believe that people are not dishonest or callous----but----i wonder if we should be more aware than ever before that there are persons that will always try to play on our trust.

Have you ever been dobbed in, and for what??????????
by BLISSISIGNORANCE intoday was a good day.
saturday, no witnessing, no meeting prep, no skirt and no dubs, no rush to do anything in particular, went to the mall to get some things, bumped into my brother (non dub) and his partner and my 3yo neice, had coffee with them and hubby, chatted, came home, kelpie dropped by to visit, went grocery shopping with my neighbour, ......................just to mention a few things.
doing what i wanted to do!.

John McLaughlin has to be the best guitarist ever. And some of his best work was with the Mahavishnu Orchestra. I like a more recent album he did with Paco DeLucia and Al DiMeola called Friday Night in San Francisco. I saw them in Sydney about ** years ago. Ain't I lucky.
Oh, and I never dobbed.

in 1972 when I were a lad, my dad was talking about the records in the small cong we were in (to serve where the need...) A slurred voice from the back of the hall called out "youse can come 'raound to my place and play ya records, I got a good record player" Seems a gent on his way home from the pub stopped in for a breather and couldn't help joining in. Stunned looks of fear from all in the hall, we had NEVER seen a drunk before. First thyme I ever saw someone asked to leave a hall..........

I have a solution to Joker's high unemployment post
by Eyebrow2 insend your resumes...i am a recruiter!
on the serious side....joker is probably stirring up a hornest for fun...hey dont we all once in a while (i am still waiting for my thread hijacker tshirt) but i cannot tell you how many people every day i talk to that were making good money not too long ago that are on the skids looking for a decent job.
you dont have to be a slacker to be unemployed joker...yes, maybe some of us have too much time on our hands...but i have a feeling the majority of people that post a lot on this board are just really good multi-taskers.

My job was automated a few years ago. I still have to do the 8 hours, I still have to watch and listen, but a computer in another state does all the thinking. I'm the organic standby in case of failure. As long as I'm here and awake and listening............
