23My Girlfriend’s Beautiful Scottish Terrier Died Yesterday 😥
by minimus inmia was almost 8 and she was the sweetest dog who was my girlfriend’s constant companion.
she had a wonderful disposition and was just a source of joy to everyone who would meet her.. she was brought to the vet on thursday and seemed to have digestive issues.
the vet gave her medicine and said it would make her sleepy.

What Is Your Favorite Decade or Time Period to Live In?

I think I'm biased toward the 80's because it was my last decade as a nonJW and I had so much fun in that decade (was raised as a JW, but didn't get baptized until later). I honestly don't even remember the 90's; don't know what characterizes the decade. I was so deep into JWdom as a regular pioneer/elder living in difficult circumstances that the 90's decade was a blur.

i didn't hear the whole report.. later, i was switching through the channels and i saw the same guy talking to tucker carlson (fox news).
come to find out he is the federal cdc equivalent at the state level.

I am justifiably cynical. I've been hearing in the news the last few weeks how our "great" american companies are turning out more products like masks to help out in this situation. I wasn't swallowing that. I was thinking that the sad truth is that many companies and individuals do what serves them best. What you posted backs up my cynicism.
3M probably wanted to brag about how it had helped out in this crisis. So much for that.

I never understood the Lot account. He was old and so drunk he was unconscious. How did he get an erection, or how did his daughters get him erect? Also, how did they both get pregnant over the course of just two nights? Did they both just happen to be fertile at that time?
And one more thing - they were both virgins. Seems that their first times would have been painful and awkward.

Coronavirus Positive

i'm day six of isolation, confirmed to have coronavirus.
i have been seeing very sick cv positive patients over the last month in my a&e role (emergency physician) it was inevitable i would contract it.. just wanted to give some symptom and treatment advice, it's anecdotal but may help.. started as sore throat and headache, then croaky voice, then dry cough, then episodic transient fevers, all this over the first few days.

My congregation is something else!
by nowwhat? innot only do they want everyone dressed up for the zoom meetings( which i won't do) they decided to keep the zoom meeting at 1pm sunday!
so they don't upset their spiritual routine!

It's not about spiritually; it's about control and keeping JWs on the never ending wheel of mindless busy work so they won't have time to question or think for themselves.
I realize now that I would I have been far more spiritual if I had not been a JW. I spent 35 years toiling as a JW with no time for real spirituality.

Sister Not Sure If She Is 144 000 or Great Crowd
by Awake at last ini haven’t posted here for years as i have now moved on and am satisfied with the choice i have made to leave watchtower.
however in light of the coronavirus and people in australia and other countries being asked to stay at home i became concerned for a witness sister who lives in melbourne alone who is 88 years old.
today i gave her a call as i don’t trust the local witnesses to care for her.

I would tell her not to worry over it. If the JW God is who he says he is, then he knows her feelings and will handle her situation in the best way. She's guaranteed happiness [according to JW belief (I wish I could believe that)], so she will fit in and feel at home wherever she ends up - earth or heaven.
