i was out trolley witnessing today.

i specifically wanted to ask jws about holy spirit, and how it guides them.. i had someone with me as usual, so jws had to be polite and answer my questions.

as we approached the trolley, an elder from my kh was there, just recently moved in.

Troll Accusations

i have noticed that some of us are a bit too eager to label new posters as trolls.

while it is clear that there are some posters who just like to stir up trouble or are out and out apologists there are others who are witnesses starting to have genuine doubts and so ask questions but then when they see the responses the cognitive dissonance kicks in and they push back and argue with what they are being told.

this can lead to very negative reactions from jwn members and accusations that the person is a troll.

As Da.furious said we have met Panthers in person. I like him and I understand why he posts the way he does. He has a unique personality. We all have negaitive traits from WT in our personality we were all damaged in some way, so give him the benefit of the doubt.

800 Infant Bodies Found in a Septic Tank at Roman Catholic Children's Home

796 infant skeletons have been found discarded in a septic tank at the former mother and baby home run by the catholic church in ireland between 1925 and 1961.. unwed mothers were sent these "magdelene asylums" to be treated like criminals.

their babies - if they survived - were taken from them.

if they did not survive their bodies were thrown into a septic tank and forgotton.

This is awful so many died. The care must have been inadequate, and likely abusive resulting in deaths. I suspect foul play without a doubt.

Yes sad but true, power corrupts and absolute power corrupts abusolutely. Even in non religious organisations, such as police and social services, especially if there is no regulating body to deal with complaints properly.

Doc, Yes my aim is to tactfully influence, I would like to think I planted some seeds.

Apogs, good point about revealing things. More JWs than we realise have doubts, it's nice to hear honesty about this but I do need to respect their position.

WF, LOL!, I am not brave or fearless, I am just passionately expressive and can't remain silent.

DHOH, I tried to be calm and reasonable and always parted with a hug and kiss

Jeanette, my daughter is the same as you. We all recover in different ways. WT was my life, I would like to think that helping people in WT and exiting WT is a part of my new life. Others just need to move on completely.

Why can't I create new topics and how can I edit my profile picture and signature?

the topics i create just dissapear and i can see no "edit profile" or "settings" anywhere.

That's odd, I checked your "Topics Started" tab, this in fact is the only topic you have started. But you started this one no problem. As for changing your profile picture I can't do it either. some can and some can't.

Try starting another topic, it might work this time.

i think she is a hypocrite and i bet she sells her invites to fornicators, or does she ask them if they are having sex before marrige, before she takes their money?.

i was never like this when i was a jw, it's even more disturbing that she is going to ask her elders what to do.

Me and my kids would not exist today if it was not for the non-Jew that helped my mum escape the concentration camps. They let her family over the boarder to Russia. We have all heard of Shcindler, but there were so many that helped the Jews like him, and some even lost their lives hiding the Jews, but I went to an exhibition and more than 70 years later these hero's are remembered for their bravery and internal sense of justice.

It's wonderful to see through history that humans help one another and stand up for what is right even if it's for a group they are not a part of because they are all part of the human race. That's why this article got me so infuriated. I am not gay and I have no gay family.

Question for believers in the Bible/God

my question basically is - why believe?.

now as a non believer i find it hard to understand how anyone in their right mind can believe in the supernatural and more to the point, live their lives according to an old book.

not just christians obviously.. my intention is not to offend people.

Which university did this latest research? I would love to read a paper, that's if I understand it, lol!

The transistion from chemistry to biochemistry will be solved.-cofty

So the latest research still doesn't explain it. For me I don't think I would term it a solution, because I don't see it as a problem. But I am looking forward to an explaination, there are so many things that I have put on the shelf waiting for an answer to, it will be satisfying to get some answers. Then maybe I may stop clinging on to my belief in a Creator.

I still believe in a Creator because of the scientific evidence I have seen, tells me that it is more probable an intelligent Creator is responsible than not. But my daughter is having problems with her wisdom teeth, why create them if we don't need them and they cause problems in many so they have to be removed?

God's way of the evolution process leaves some aspects just to evolve without intervention possibly.

I also had a good old chit chat about my ex. I was asked if I had any evidence to prove my ex has lied and I have, he lied on the divorce papers, I asked if he wanted to see them and he just said my ex won't get any priviledges.

My son is a publisher again and I said I had concerns about this as I have doubts and that my son doesn't even want to go on FS. He hasn't been out on FS or participated at a meetings since his priviledges have been given back. Just shows, they make our kids JWs when they don't even want to be!!!

I will continue to spread this far and wide, at this moment in time my son is an unbaptised publisher against his will. And without even talking to him about it first!!!
