this is my first post here.. i was raised in "the truth", and am an ex-bethelite who worked in brooklyn for several years back in the 90's.
a few years after i left bethel, i started to become disillusioned after doing research about the society and reading crisis of conscience (i know..i wasn't supposed to do that lol).
i eventually stopped attending meetings and going out in service.
Welcome Im_free, thank you for your story. You and your wife have certainly had an interesting journey since the 90's. I too believe in God the creator but, I cannot accept he is a benevolent God that cares about us. I don't believe in the God of the Bible, I don't belive that is was from God at all.

when my dad left jws, his stoic remark was: it was not a total wastage; after all i learned something good about the witnessestheir resolve to continue with their original claim that they are the appointed channel of god, even when they know in their heart of hearts that they are not.
why cant i imitate that sort of resolve in doing something worthwhile?
he thus echoed confucius who said: to be wronged is nothing unless you continue to remember it.. a poor choice we made, some obstructions or some resistance are almost always viewed with fear and anxiety.

Just because you wrote something down, and you understand it, it doesn't mean it will make sense to everyone that reads it. Your response is condesending, as if you are more experienced and knowledgeable than me. I will never understand what you wrote and you did not write it in way that it makes sense. i came across this video ... and watched it ... why?
i don't know really, but i found it intersting.. especially interesting was how these men used the bible, they knew their message, they used an actual hard copy bible that has obviously been studied, and the older jw man, well, he was using a tablet.
it seemed cumbersome compared to using the actual bible.
The non-JWs are dogmatic. The priest asks questions and doesn't listen to answers. He interupts and doesn't stick to a point. I found the video irritating and annoying. I am in now way a JW apologist but the JWs didn't get a chance to actually say anything without interuption.

questioned everyone, and it's for "jewels" for a kim kardashian game my 13 year old charged.
This is all unscrupulous trading. Glad to see lawsuits being brought against these companies

Here in the UK the end of the world is occurring. We still have internet so I can preach to all the apostates, God will forgive you it's not too late to be saved. Jesus is here with his army and I am being protected by him as I confessed my sins and was forgiven.

I blame the gaming companies. I have heard of this before. They make it too easy for anyone to charge to a credit card. There are no security checks to ensure the one purchasing the items is over 18. If you need to be over 18 to have a credit card surely you need to be over 18 to use it.
I think gaming companies take advantage of kids and should be held accountable. If someone is a child and does not have permission from the cardholder to use the card then the transaction should be void.
Has this happened to anyone else? I don't even think the kids realise they are spending real money. It's a scam.

an odd letter was read at last nights' meeting.
it was in regards to a special campaign for next year arranged by the governing body to go and preach in israel.
the call is going out to anybody that speaks hebrew and english.
I can speak and read and write Hebrew, I have family in Israel. Sadly I am out WT and won't be going over to recruit anyone into WT. Kate xx
