  yep...that was the topic discussed in a recent public talk!.

  the speaker went on about how a "god of love, along with his organisation, would never threaten people with punishment and hell!".

  We can help you come up with an exit plan. There are loads of different ways to make the next step, but you have to have it right in your head what you're going to do. Skip a few meetings and wind down, cold turkey and stop going all together, just miss the services meetings, etc.

  Once you decide how you will stop going to meetings you need to decide how to deal with elders phonecalls, meetings and "encouragement". There are plenty of good one liners to keep them at bay and then they may just forget about you. Alternatetively you may want a JC and record it to tell them all about the things you have learned, that can be cathartic for many, but ends in D'fing or D'aing.

  if you haven't yet read it...please do so..... it is so ridiculous!

  so leading, so distorted, and full of "bait and switch" techniques.. "prove you have the truth"..by seeing how neutral witnesses were in war times?

  You are awake and you are getting to the point that the more you read to more frustrated you are with the cultish techniques used. I suggest you make a plan of how to stay in without getting so annoyed. You need to read less and miss a few meetings.

  He Got Reinstated . . .

  feeling low today.

  i haven't posted for a long time (forgotten log in details = new username) i'm in a good place with my family now and have built a life outside the religion.. today i found out a good friend has gone back and got himself reinstated to be able to have contact with his elderly mother.

  that is the only reason apparently.

  It's sad so see someone get RI'd, but it's for a good reason to be with his mum. I am glad to see you will support him and be there for him, if he knows TTATT he will really hate the meetings.

  2 century old debt.. our president has been reluctant to begin another war when the debt of the previous two wars hangs heavy.

  Soldiers in Britain tend to come from the most derprived parts of the country and towns where finding work is almost imopossible even with qualifications. Yes war costs a lot in many ways, it costs lives and causes poverty.

  My daughter is grown up now, but she wore a costume to work and went to a haloween party in the evening, I think they had alcohol instead of sweets (candy) though. It's good to know that everyone can join in no matter how old they are.

  I am so sorry to hear your husband put the dampers on the fun, and is going to report you. He is obviously scared the kids will die at Armaggedon. What he is proposing to do is terrible, but don't forget he thinks it is what's best for your whole family. Just try and ignore the elders but show your husband love, and that you are a good wife and mother. Very sorry this is happening, WT is a cult.

  there are many things that can be done to make others aware.. perhaps in the following comments it would be good to have suggestions of "direct actions" that everyone can do to have an impact on the wtbts.. .

  Ahh I see, I hadn't thought of that perspective. Perhaps just being simple and writing "This app is produced by a religious cult" would deter non-JWs. But if you think about it JWs place a huge amount of litterature and hardly anyone gets recruited, but some slip through the net I suppose.

  Mana,

  I applaud your desire to be active and express your views about the organisation, but I personally think this idea will not work. If you put a negative comment for a JW app, all JWs will see it and say "ahh that's just an apostate, we are warned they're bitter".

  Our aim should be to help JWs wake up from their indoctrination don't you think?

  You may very well be irritated by the comments, but these are fully indoctrinated JWs, I was once like them, but now I am awake. I am awake thanks to activists that did it the right way.

  Trinkets and memorabilia is a million dolllar business for many JWs. They are selling all kinds of rubbish and JWs are lapping it up, many have gone jw.org crazy. If there's a demand, make a few bucks providing the supply. Kate xx
