though we can easily dismiss many of jws teachings on many counts, the sad part is that we do not have any alternative.
1) 1) though some of the things bible said may have gone wrong (most of which would not even touch our day-to-day lives), the worst thing it foretold (which very much affects our day-today-lives) has come true: people will faint from terror, apprehensive of what is coming on the world.

I don't really know what point you're trying to make. Are you trying to discredit science with your calculations? If so your calculations are based on assumptions that have no proof.
I believe in god and in science. The two are not mutually exclusive.

Welcome to the site. As you can see you have three pages worth of responses warning you about this cult. You did the right thing to find out some independent information about keeping records. But there is much more you can find out from independent sources such as jwsurvey.org and jwfacts.com.

I enjoyed watching the video. There were a few technical hitches that made the experience less enjoyable. I like'd the fact that he had 10-12 JWs listening to him discuss the NGO status of WT in the UN. He brought up other things too which was good.
I thought it was very calm and respectful the way he approached the brothers and he wasn't bitter and angry at individuals.

Sorry to hear you might be getting df'd. It is very isolating. All the positive advice you have got on this thread I have tried. Has it worked yet? Not for me.
I still live in hope but I don't have high expectations of getting a circle of true friends. Posters make it sound easy, but the harsh reality is, it takes time to build lasting friendships.

the young lovers seat themselves down and look over the landscape.
I think more sisters stayed single for WT, I know of a few in my old cong. Very sad indeed.

Very manipulative. I really am disturbed by the way he talks about JWs being DF'd for apostasy and other brothers and sisters feel for them. Sinutko then goes on to say, "well you don't know all the facts". This is the big problem with shunning, no one ever knows the full facts it's all covered up.
This is why the internet is so therapeutic, people can tell their story, we can get the full picture and the more we do the more we realise others have the same story as us. In this way we get all the facts.
