........ well at least the ones i encountered on my recent holiday to orlando.
now i know that its a tourist destintion so everyone working in the hotels and parks are on their best behaviour.
but i have been to tourist towns here in the uk and europe but not one is on a par with you guys.. my husband and i haven't stopped talking about to anyone that wants to listen.
I have never been to the states, but when ever I have met Americans here in the UK they have always been really outgoing, friendly and wear their heart on their sleave. It so easy to have a nice conversation with open people.
I have a close friend from Seattle, she is very friendly and caring, she is still a JW though, but she stays in touch with me.
All the Americans on this site are really nice too.

21 years ago today, was the one of the most special days of my life. I gave birth to my precious daughter. Who knew it would pass so quickly! Bringing up a daughter has been the most rewarding thing in my life. She is so great and I am proud of her.
I wanted to hire a hall and invite lots of work mates for her, but she said she has no friends because of WT, and she can't see her boyfriend because he is on army training, and she can't see her brother because his dad won't let him come to London with me. I feel bad that she feels like this, I wanted to make her feel special.
We are going out for a meal tonight in a luxury hotel and will be having some Champagne with our meal, my parents will be coming too, thankfully they were never JWs. We are going to make the best of our circumstances.
I gave her the world famous Pandora bracelet with a couple of charms this morning. She was very happy with her gift and my parents gave her a nice cheque. I am sure everyone at work will make a fuss of her today as well.
It has been great watching her grow into a capable young woman, she is amazing and wonderful. I love her so much.
Congratulations on your 21st fabulous daughter.
so my wife goes to a high school graduation for a congregation member.
she spends hours at the party, she has cake, she gives a very decent gift.
she brings home leftovers from the party for me and her.
I think she is, she is just being sneaky about it.
Here in the UK quite a lot of JWs sneak to University. If you're a dominant elder you're kids can go without you being removed. But it was always puzzling to me. My daughter has turned 21 today, she left the WT a year ago, she was studying a degree but couldn't do it with work as well. I fear the WT has left her in a sad educational position when her JW peers got away with going to uni on the hush hush.
Having said this her job required a degree, but she got it anyway and she is earning way above the national average for her age. I am just concerned she will have regrets in the future. Not having a degree is something that is a stigma in later years.
I hate this stupid policy that many flagrantly disobey, and cause others who obey, hardships. I wish I had known better, I had a lot of CD about University and my kids knew this. I questioned it all the time. My son is only 12, and I am instilling into him that getting a university degree is the best way to set himself up for life. ATM he wants to be a teacher and knows you need a university educationfor that.

anyone else getting a bit tired of being wetted upon?.
i've sort of had enough already, suede shoes in the rain is not not a good idea.. .
on the plus side, it's fun for fish .
British women hate it because it messes their hair up. It's sunny one minute and then it storms down. Not like Florida much, but I thought in the summer you get lots of rain due to the humidity, don't you?
Kate xx
so, i'm quite excited but also slightly freaked out as i'm able to go this summer instead of next like i had counted on (my daughter graduates next year and i was planning to go then).
this means i'm doing this last minute and i wanted to see if any of you have used https://www.go-today.com or gateone travel or go ahead travel?.
i'm planning on london, paris and rome for two weeks, likely july at this point.
Suggestions? Also, I'm open to meeting up with exjws :) If anyone wants to meet up in London I'll be there the 12-15th.-Gypsy
I must have missed this thread. I will meet up with you. Is your daughter coming too? I will see if my daughter will meetup. It will be fun. Kate xx
yesterday i was trying out the hobgoblin from the wychwood brewery, and today i'm enjoying a cold bishops finger.. .
both are excellent, but i am a bit fond now of the hobgoblin ruby beer.
any other recommendations?
Hey Panthers,
How are you enjoying London? See you Saturday mister. Kate xx
interview with joel the unwitness:.
http://youtu.be/bpwylueul44.
an outstanding experience of unwitnessing occurs when a former jw happens to find himself at a mcdonalds around 11am on a saturday.... does pandemonium ensue?
That was a really interesting youtube, thanks Eric for your efforts. I also watched some of Joels other youtubes on his channel too. Keep doing what you're doing it's great. Love Kate xx
anyone else finding it troubling?
anyone feel it represents their views?.
is it being reported in usa/australia etc?.
Kate: I have no idea what you mean by that?- Snare
It's just that no body gave you anything you didn't earn for yourself. You have achieved everything off your own back and done extremely well for yourself. Many Doctors and others in good professions see that everyone can achieve this much, when some simply cannot for various reasons.
I have been brought up in Tory household, and disagree with a lot of my family's political views. I was pleasantly surprised that a Doctor, someone with a well paid profession, could have political views against Tories.
Other than the fact doctors tend to HATE the dail mail....- Snare
This is interesting, I didn't know this.

My family all voted, Tory. My daughter is especially annoyed about the MEP UKIP seats.
A daily mail britain is not one I would want to be a part of.-snare
That's noble of you Snare, considering you are a Doctor. I don't particularly favour Tories, or Labour. But that's all Britain has ever been. I have noticed the difference when we have right or left wing in power. But it's all pretty much the same as far as the basics are concerned.
I agree a lot of racist BNP supporters will be voting UKIP, but I am not worried Europe will have all facist leaders, and I can't see another Hitler ever coming into power again, we have learned our lessons.
