  i cannot wrap my mind around the fact that there is jw tv.

  being a born in and living most of my life hearing how tv evangelism is wrong and lazy preaching yet seeing this unfold solidifies this religion as a cult!.

  i remember back when i began my fade a few years ago i told my brother during an argument how this religion is just like any other religion in that its bull.

  can anyone verify the new "basic pioneer" rumor?

  so it's rumored started by one member that there is a new pioneer rank called basic pioneer, announced at annual meeting.

  can anyone verify this is true?

  everything else presented at the meeting has been verified except this.

  I believe the rumour about the the basic pioneer of 10 hrs is true. It makes sense as to how the GB are elevating themselves and keeping all the rank and file in their places. pioneering won't be as much of an elitist occupation soon.

  Coping whilst stuck in the org.

  i recently learned ttatt and it really sickens me when i sit through the meetings.

  i am so tired of faking things.

  i feel like vomiting when annoying things are said from the platform.

  I heard about the clapping game. I thought this was funny, you need to be brave though. Start clapping for something that they wouldn't normally clap for, and see if the rest of the cong follow, or a little easier is to keep the clapping going when it starts to fade off, keep going as long as you can, get some friends to join in and do it at assemblies too.

  This is a really childish and silly game. The reality of your situation is that it is making you feel sick. This is common, listen to your body, you don't want to make yourself ill. I was at meetings, feeling sick doing what I had to do for family, but it was too much. I had to leave, I couldn't keep up the facade.

  Leaving the JWs, experiencing Christianity and finding freedom! (But it took awhile)

  this is my first post here.. i was raised in "the truth", and am an ex-bethelite who worked in brooklyn for several years back in the 90's.

  a few years after i left bethel, i started to become disillusioned after doing research about the society and reading crisis of conscience (i know..i wasn't supposed to do that lol).

  i eventually stopped attending meetings and going out in service.

  Satan is not mentioned in Gen 3. A snake spoke to Eve. Its an ancient creation myth in which there is no Satan. He is not connected with the serpent until the NT.-cofty

  I agree Satan is not mentioned, but as I said the serpent is. The whole of Gen chapter 3 introduces the concepts of good and bad, right and wrong, honesty and lies. The chapter was written with the intent of saying that doing something different from what God says is wrong. It is written in very concrete terms and is a load of nonesense. I do believe evil people exist though. Greedy, selfish, inconsiderate people.

  i just got a job teaching in a school run by moderate muslims.

  the students are muslim and do their prayers at school and have daily quran lessons.

  my job is to teach art, english literacy and literature, and history.
