Zalkin seems to be doing a steady job. It's good to see that jw.org is being held accountable. I am annoyed though at their audacity to keep trying to appeal decisions....it's no good. Kate xx

by undercover inbluesy country song by a guy named scott snake miller.
lyrics cut/pasted from his website.... .
still wide awake ,heard a knock on my door comin down off of somethin from the night before.. looked out the window and what did i see?a pretty girl waitin for me.. she started blamin the devil for all my mistakes, talked of worship and prayer so i tried to relate.. i guess god could'nt make it so he must of sent her,the jehova witness girl.. she left me a booklet to read when i can i said yes i will surely do that mam.. full of colorful pictures, spiritual scenes i read up to page 23.. it said when the wrath of the lord brings the world to an end if i get my shit straight then i just might get in.. cause i aint on the guest list so i'm takin my turn with jehova witness girl.

Good find, it just goes to show JWs girls are part of the public relations and advertising. Some men will turn their lives around for a good JEHOVA WITNESS GIRL. Little do they know what they are really like, breaking all the rules on weekends.

Is It Just Me??
by What Now? inwe're 2 years in to our exit from the witnesses.
we're not disfellowshipped or disassociated ... just inactive.
none of our friends speak to us anymore.
-
KateWild
Many have a happy smooth exit, but many of us struggle. When we are part of the Org we are involved with a big social scene, bigger than anything else in the community. So you couls volunteer as I have done, or join a drama or knitting club, but it will never be the same as JW.ORG.
My exit has been isolating too, and my daughter has found it hard getting a circle of friends. She is an adult and lives in a different city. But I would never change things. Learning TTATT has been great and the fact I don't have cognitive dissonance anymore has given me more mental stability.
You are not alone in how you feel, it's a terrible cult that practices shunning. I am so sorry you had to go through this in the grocery store.
Take care

A question that bugging me
by wheelwithinwheel inwhy it has been deemed appropriate to assign brothers and sisters in each international convention city to spend hours and hours making souvenir grab bags full of knick-knacks.
and to assign other brothers and sisters to spend hours and hours preparing choreography, music, lighting, costumes and props, and practicing and practicing cowboy songs, pop music, dance and jw.org skits.. .
and to assign other brothers and sisters to spend hours and hours constructing giant bibles popping out of jw.org boxes and giant bibles turning into baptismal pools.. .

Pope says Big bang and Evolution are correct !
by Phizzy infrom the u.k independent newspaper :.
" the theories of evolution and the big bang are real and god is not a magician with a magic wand, pope francis has declared.. speaking at the pontifical academy of sciences, the pope made comments which experts said put an end to the pseudo theories of creationism and intelligent design that some argue were encouraged by his predecessor, benedict xvi.. francis explained that both scientific theories were not incompatible with the existence of a creator arguing instead that they require it.. when we read about creation in genesis, we run the risk of imagining god was a magician, with a magic wand able to do everything.
but that is not so, francis said.. he added: he created human beings and let them develop according to the internal laws that he gave to each one so they would reach their fulfilment.. the big bang, which today we hold to be the origin of the world, does not contradict the intervention of the divine creator but, rather, requires it.. evolution in nature is not inconsistent with the notion of creation, because evolution requires the creation of beings that evolve.. the catholic church has long had a reputation for being anti-science most famously when galileo faced the inquisition and was forced to retract his heretic theory that the earth revolved around the sun.. but pope franciss comments were more in keeping with the progressive work of pope pius xii, who opened the door to the idea of evolution and actively welcomed the big bang theory.

Theredeemer,
Good questions, each believer has their own set of beliefs to answer those questions. Personally I don't believe that God wrote the bible so none of it is a lesson for us, niether do I believe that God is benevolent or cares about us, I just believe in some parts of evolution that had Gods direction, form a chemistry perspective. This is evidence for me and satisfies me.

To be honest I don't think this is such a big deal. Belief in God and evolution are not mutually exclusive. People have believed in both for years. Kate xx

I think that sometimes activists can go to far, O'hare did on this occaission. Members of the public will not have grasped the full picture and sympathised with the shunning. We need to reason with JWs, not blast out voice recordings in the street.

Are you afraid something horrible will happen to you now you have left the Wt.
by Still Totally ADD ini remember many years ago we would talk about those who leave the org.
something bad will happen to them.
because god was mad at them for turning away from the wt.
-
KateWild
After I left I never really thought something bad would happen to me. I experienced such bad things while I was in the Org and trying my best to serve Jehovah that leaving could present me with nothing worse. I don't have this residual fear some do.

Moving out after the borg
by happy@last ini was delighted to hear of adjustments news, but it did remind me of what i'm sure a lot go through when they leave, here's a little of my story:.
when i married as a jw, and when we moved there was always a team of willing volunteers happy to drive the van or move the furniture or decorate.
additonally when you get married you have a list of items people want to buy for you, even if some had odd taste we received lots of needed and wanted items, sometimes 2 or 3 of the same type.. as a da'd person, also seperated from my spouse i needed to move home.

I also moved out my family home and into an apartment. The move was a refreshing new start, but I had my mum with me it was an emotional time and good to have her there. She has never been a witness. Thanks for your story.
