Asking Her Out - Follow Up - Advice?

soooo..... going to ask that wonderful lady for her phone number tonight as per everyone's advice... first time i will ever be doing that with a non jw girl...erm...woman.

my dear female friends, what are some genuine questions i can pose to get a conversation rolling and what are some other questions/things i can ask/say to restart a stalled conversation?

i'm very very shy when talking to new people... especially someone i'm interested in, and have some social anxiety.

Impression of Leaked Letter Regarding Annual Meeting

the letter that watchtower free put up was very interesting.

here is my impression.. the watchtower is becoming more and more geared towards idiots.

the midweek meeting has a stupid name, and the parts sound equally dumb.

Yes it's aimed at children to get them baptised early and trap them in the cult. I am outraged at this. So even if they opt for higher education and well paid jobs they are still trapped and part of the cult. Perhaps even MS and elders running the the business for the GB

i just texted a very good remote worker friend, said i heard that there is a reduction in force coming at bethel and i hoped he wouldn't be affected.

After Death Communications in the JW community

my name is jack and i'm looking for after death communications from the jehovah witness community.

an after death communication (or adc) is when a loved one sends a kind of message to this side of life after their death.

it can be a dream or smell (like perfume or roses that would be attached to them in memory) or a feeling of their presence.

It's interesting you have had messages in private. But if I had an experience I would show evidence about it. I can't understand why some people choose to keep these experiences secret unless in fact they have doubts themselves.

Update on sisters threatened with rape

yesterday i had an email from amnesty international about the two sisters in an indian village who were sentenced by the village elders to be raped as a punishment for their brother falling in love with a woman from another hindu caste and eloping with her.. amnesty do a great deal of good work but the real force is individuals who sign the petitions and send letters and emails to political leaders.

people power folks, it really works.

for those of us who signed the petition and the rest of the over 300,000 people who did, meenakshi and her young sister thank you.

Why did you choose Jehovahs Witnesses?

i'm wondering why ones on this forum initially became jw's.

if you were born in, why did you make it "your own"?

if you became one later, what was your draw and driving force?

I chose JWs because of the love bombing. I was 20 yrs old at University in a new city and wanted a circle of friends. It was more an emotional decision rather than a logical one. The JWs I met were very loving and thoughtful as they are trained to be. They showed me they were the disciples as they had love. (John 13.34,35)

I left because of the lack of love too. The elders were not kind or loving. If you want to hear a recording of my JC let me know and I will add it to the thread.

i was feeling particularly hopeless about the whole jws being assholes thing and sick to death of pretending so ....

i rang my sister and told her that i no longer believe jws have the truth and the phone went silent, when i asked her to say something she just said if that was the case then she would have to hang up on me and then proceeded to indeed hang up..
