i have a few questions that i'd like to adress (if you don't mind of course).
I was a convert and I converted at age 20. The JWs were very loving and kind and it's what drew me to the WT. But the love was not there in all JWs and this is what got me questioning. I was very zealous and did everything Jehovah wanted from me, but I still had suffering..........that's when I questioned if God really cares.
Leaving was stressful, but my kids also left.

Well it actually infuriates me that they don't engage. When I was a JW I cared about the householders and was really interested in their perspective.
It just shows how hypocritical these two JWs were. They only care about their own salvation.

christmas means nothing to me.
i have no abiding, cosy, childhood memories of it.. i don't buy presents or cards....i have to be reminded.. i feel a bit weird.
people are celebrating and saying: 'i'm feeling christmassy.'.
a perennial issue for any online forum is moderation and applying rules.
we have a set of community guidelines and posting guidelines that are intended to make clear what is and isn't acceptable but this tends to focus on the obvious standards of behavior for, well, obvious reasons.
it's easy to talk about people being aggressive or insulting etc... as those are common and clearly unwanted behaviors and the typical issue for online communities - the most likely things to come up.. does this mean that everything *not* on the list is allowed?

me-you allow pedophiles to go d2d and into peoples houses even when they have children.. j.w-no we don't.. me-the one that interfered with a relative of mine does and another i know who raped his sister does in fact he's an elder.. j.w-we cant stop them going d2d.. me- so now your saying they do go d2d you can't stop them,no you don't want to!.
j.w-it happens in all religions.. me- so that justifies sending pedo's into strangers houses.how would you like it if a pedo came to your place and you didn't know.. j.w- it happened to my mother and if he came to my place it knock him out.. me - but you have no problem with anyone from your church going to peoples houses even if they are a pedo.. we argued around in circles with him saying the elders may not know and me saying well i told them and so did the victim and he admitted to it ,then i told him about the r.c in australia and he said that could be anyone claiming to be a j.w could be on the stand ( by this time he was getting desperate)the i said like jeffery jackson?.
i told them to look it up on you tube.. i gave then the names and congro's the 2 pedo's are in and said i'd come back next week and see if they had checked it out.the lady's body language said she knew the elder that raped his sister as they are a well know family they were in the year book a few years ago.. stand by for next week.. karter.
I talk to them on their trolleys too. I had some pack up and leave too in Trafalgar square.

with the christmas almost upon us i would like to share a personal experience with you about drinking and driving.. as you may know the local police are having a serious go at drink drivers this year... well, a couple of days ago i was out for an evening with friends and had a small number of drinks before dinner, followed by some rather nice red wine.
feeling jolly i still had the sense to know that i may be very slightly over the limit.. that's when i did something that i've never done before - i took a taxi home.. sure enough on the way home there was a police road check, but since it was a taxi they waved it past.
i arrived home safely without incident.. this was a real surprise as i had never driven a taxi before, i don't know where i got it and now that it's in my garage i don't know what to do with it.. any ideas?.

.just plucking up the courage to introduce myself....living in ireland but from the uk originally.
..drifted away due to depression (from all things truth related lol and bereavements and my m.s husband cheating on me and leaving !!
) few years ago but they recently hunted me down (they contacted me the day my other half was diagnosed with cancer!
I am so sorry what has happened to you. It's so unforgivable the way they have harassed you just so they can use their power to df you.
These elders are scumbags that have stopped your daughter and mother talking to you when you need them most.
Their logic is flawed. You are not committing any sins as your fiance is battling cancer and is unable to fornicate. So their conclusions are unacceptable and you have been out for a number of years.
This is obvious evidence for you that holy spirit is not guiding them. Love and kindness is not their driving force. All they enjoy is having power and control over you.
I hope your daughter and your mother feel for you and start supporting you soon. You never know they may. I very much hope so.

given the wt society's view on women, did any of you ladies gave up on the idea of getting married "in the truth".
in such case, did you sometimes feel that you were missing out?
Being a single sister JW is very different from being married in WT. Both has it's negatives as the WT is very misogynistic.
I choose now that I am divorced to date non JW men until I meet someone I love again. I have a boyfriend right now and it's great to know someone cares and they are there for you.
