  dear all, need some advice .

  in my country one can get dfd for pretty much anything the bullies want to df you for.

  but is there any specific guidelines that state one can or cannot be dfd for marrying a non witness.

  Exactly what I am saying 3rdgen. I knew there would be an example. It depends on your status in the congregation

  Elders sons can have sex and repent and just get a private reproof. It's all unjust.

  Kate, I'm not sure where you got that information about a "sister" being DF'd- WO

  I was just being devils advocate. Some elders can go to the extreme like they did in my case.

  The point I was making that nothing in WT is fair and you can't count on the rules as some elders make up their own

  i spent some time here awhile back as an unbelieving mate of a jw wife.

  i learned a lot, and was able to be supportive and understanding when she decided to leave the jw.. unfortunately, my son seems to have internalized many of the jw teachings.

  How old is your son? How long ago did he leave WT?

  If he is a teen get him involved with activities with school friends/ uni friends.

  We are social creatures and need to interact with our peers.

  I think it varies depending on the body of elders and the JW dating the non JW.

  If it's a son of elder possibly nothing would happen. If it's a single sister with no family and the non JW has been studying for a while and an unbaptised publisher, the sister could be df'd for years and try and get Ri'd numerous time to no avail.

  This is an unfair cult that has management who abuse their positions.

  Today is Christmas, and guess what? Witnesses's were going house to house on my block, TODAY ON CHRISTMAS!!!!!!

  i kid you not!!!!!

  my family, and i, were on our way to my wife's brothers house today, which is the families christmas tradition.

  we open presents in the morning, and at around 10:30, we head over to my brother in laws for breakfast/brunch, with all the family.. so, as we loaded some presents up in the car, and we all jumped, and drove away, at the end of my block, jehovahs witnesses!

  We went out Xmas day. We weren't being rude though. We were being friendly and doing what we thought was loving and caring.

  The householders on the doors were pleasant to us and my kids when they were younger.

  Now if they came to me I wouldn't condem them. I would be pleasant and tell my story. JWs in general are nice and care, they are just indoctrinated.

  several recent threads have gotten me started on an essay and i need some research help.

  does anyone have access to anything the wt has ever published on intersex people (they might have used the now-outdated term: hermaphrodite)?

  Rivalry among the sisters

  when i was first introduced to the "truth", i was so distracted by the love and affection that the members were showing me that i was ready to convert into the religion without thinking twice.

  i was conviced that jws were god's people (i still think some of them are).

  i made it my goal to get baptized as i wanted to be part of the "only" religion that produce such good people.

  I gave up my career as a chemical analyst to pioneer. I totally regret it now. I can't get back to that career now. I am training for a different career and volunteering to get experience in a new field. But because I am 42 there is no guarantee I will be recruited into a good career now.

  This is an example I would not recommend to follow.

  Converting into this religion is not the result of an healthy ego. Something must be wrong with me. I'll figure it out. - Esmeralda

  This isn't necessarily the case. Everyone has problems in life. No one is normal. This is a cult that recruits people. All the converts have been recruited with proven techniques. Return visits and love bombing.

  Some born in JWs think normal is towing the line, being the same. But the world has a variety of personalities with various opinions. Colourful and exciting.

  You are free thinking and have opinions. Don't lose that part of your personality. Stay colourful and exciting.
