hey--i could really use some input from parents and kids at heart.. i am volunteering to do a story time this saturday.
i am supposed to read whatever i want to the kids for an hour.
i left a message that i would take requests for stories, but so far no one has made any suggestions.. i am just wondering what some of you would suggest i read.
How about the new Great Teacher book. They could hear all about what not to do with their penis and vulva. But seriously, my kids loved a book called Piggy in a Puddle, its fun to read and fun to hear. Also the Velveteen Rabbit-a true classic. And of course Yertle the Turtle, already mentioned here. On the faraway island of Salamasond, Yertle the Turtle was king of the pond. A nice little pond, it was clean it was neat. And all of the turtles had plenty to eat. LOVE IT!
there's been too much volatile stuff going around, and a few folks appear tetchy.. can we drop any issues, and just enjoy a ((((group hug)))) for a moment.... ((((hugs to everyone)))).
love you guys.
coz regardless of the ups and downs, this place is a little like the family i lost.... sometimes i need to take a step back, have a break and some quiet time, but that's ok, too.. every blessing to everyone,.
Hugs to all, you mean so much to me.

the governing body continues to surround itself with yes-men.
protected inside the walls of watchtower's brooklyn bethel, they have practically no contact with the real world.
which means that the aging members of the governing body have little or no contact with anyone that can offer them corrective criticism.
Hahaha, you know its bad when they dont' just shit their pants, but shit them on a regular basis!!!
i took this off of xjw_b12's thread.

No, I did not feel like you were forcing anything on me. I had the feeling that you were making a point that you felt very strongly about and I considered it seriously. You made your point very well and I felt it deserved consideration. And I do agree with you. I don't ever want to be so strongly entrenched in my own opinions that I cannot consider a point well made. The whole point of not being a witness (at least to me) is that I am free to give thought to an issue with no preconceived ideas. I like it.
Deb
.
and if so, how did you get out, or how are you planning to get out.. thanks.

Yup. The first time he hit me was shortly after we were married. I was 19 years old and had just gotten my first pair of contact lenses. They were hard lenses and getting them in was very painful. I said "Damn" after putting the first one in, cuz it hurt like crazy. He hit me on my thigh and the 1/4 inch high hand print lasted all day. I was able to put up with him and reason the whole thing away because he only hit me once in a while. One time he hit me on the head with his belt buckle and I bled big time.
The outrageous thing is that I didn't leave him because of the abuse, I left him because of the cheating. And the funny thing is that the whole last year I spent with him is because I was afraid my washing machine would break down and what would I do if that happened. I really do think that is funny now, cracks me up all these years later.
A whole 'nother year because I was afraid the washer would break. Ohhhh Noooo what if the washer breaks. How about the laundromat you stupid B#$tch!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The lesson is this: If you are an abused woman or man for that matter get the heck out. Don't let fear of the unknown keep you in danger.
GET OUT. There are plenty of services available to help and you will develop a sense of confidence and handle whatever comes just fine. PM me if you need specific advice.
Deb
this is unbelievable.
i was at the watchtower meeting last sunday and one elder gave an answer that jw 's do not have the problems like the cathlic church where the preist are molesting boys or the church has to pay huge sums of money out to abused cases.
is he not aware what is happening within the jw organization ?
Not so fast, that elder was right. They Witnesses molest little girls instead.

Obiwan, I have modified my stand on this after reading Dr. Cox' article in Liberty magazine. Great stuff have you read it? I am starting to believe they will almost surely be forced to do or die. The internet may force them into the light. ALL of their lies and secrets are being brought into the open and there is not one thing they can do about it. Damn! I love being a part of all that. Dr. Cox said that all organizations have a will to survive and the WTS is no exception. The blood issue of course is a prime example and the pinata is too. How can they continue to shun when the horrible grief and pain it causes is made public. HOT DIGGITY DOG this is fun and exciting, could we be watching and participating in the demise of that cruel and patriarchal organization?
I think I resisted your idea because personally I would rather watch them be shut down forever rather than modify their teachings and behavior. But as you can see, I can be reasoned with. Another thing Dr. Cox said is that the pace would be slow, but that the truth about them may force a more hurried pace. The thing is moving faster than they can back peddle.
Deb
hey friends,.
i had a chance encounter with one of the elders in the congregation i was in today.. guys, still today, i feel like a broken man.
somedays i just want to sit and home a cry all day for all the pain this organization has given me.. i came out from the "world" and came into the "truth.
