Are all JW who were born before 1930 considered anointed or just some? Did Charles Taze Russell at one point not say he was the only one going to heaven? I've looked through the Proclaimers book but can't seem to find the explantation as to why the special class believe they're special. Could someone point me into the right direction. I use to know all of this stuff by heart but it seems my lack of faith has sucked the knowledge right out of me. Maybe my body went through a brainwashing detox. I dunno.

Did you lose respect for your parents because of the JW / Watchtower crap ?
by run dont walk inthis is probaly one of my biggest problems i dealt with growing up in the jw crap.. it's no fun growing up alone.. i am sorry, but i hated my parents (probaly from the time i was 13), i know that is mean and a terrible thing to say, but that's how i felt.
i had no respect for them growing up in the borg.
they taught me nothing about ................. having a relationship/dating.

I pity my parents because of the JW/Watchtower crap, especially my Mom. Her whole life revolves around this religion. She wouldn't know what to do with herself without it. She's obsessed with it. Religious fanatic. Spends at least 20 hours a week reading the bible along with Watchtower publications. I don't even think I would want my Mom to realize what the borg is all about for fear she may commit suicide. I haven't lost respect for them because I understand why they did what they did. They truly believed they were doing the right thing.

Right on target Logan. I find it quite amusing how some ex and non-witnesses consider mainstream Christianity to be "True Christianity" simply because of it's popularity. One of the many reasons why it's popular is because it's so liberal. There really are no rules. Just show up and drop something in the collection plate. Afterall, the only thing you need is faith in Jesus and you'll be forgiven for every sin. Who wouldn't want to be in a religion like that? The borg may be deadwrong in many things, but the unity they brag about so much is indeed harmonious with the bible. Christian disciples had to follow Jesus and believe everything he said. They weren't allowed to think independently or have their own ideas. It amazes me how this crucial fact escapes most bible believers. I don't mean to offend, but I think they're all full of shit. For any single religion to say they have the absolute truth is just plain ridiculous in my opinion. I think we need to follow John Lennon's advice and get rid of religion all together. The world will be a much better place.

What was he doing?
by Ariell infor those of you who believe in god, and i know this may sound like a silly question, but what was he doing before he created jesus, the first thing he ever made.
we're talking an eternity here.
zillions upon zillions of years.

That's where I have a problem with beliving in god. Why is it that the universe is too complex not to have had a creator but that god (who is even more complex than the universe since he supposedly created it) had no creator himself?
Good Observation. I never looked at it that way.

Counting flowers on the wall
playing Solitaire till dawn with a deck of 51
smoking cigarettes and watching Captain KangarooThat would make sense, except for that fact that those things hadn't been created yet. Which makes it even more funnier.

And another thing... if he can do anything, why doesn't he just spell out "There Is A God" in the clouds in the sky or something like that so we will all know for sure.
Or better yet, why doesn't he just talk to us the way he supposedly did with Adam and Eve? Oh, I forgot. He talks to us through the bible. A book that is capable of being intrepreted in a thousand different ways and is indirectly responsible for ruining millions of lives. Yea God. Thanks alot!

This isn't just a JW thing. It's a Christian thing, or anyone who believes in the bible. Even if we aren't the only thing God has created, something had to come first. So what was up with him before this first thing. I believe in a creator, but not so sure about the one spoken so highly of in the bible. I think that guy is a raving lunatic. Maybe there are many gods like Zeus and Aphrodite. At this point I'm open to anything.
More importantly, who created god?
Well according to the bible he was always here right? No beginning. That's were things really get complicated. If someone created God, someone had to create that God, and then someone would have had to create that God.............................................It would basically end up being the same as God always being here.

I was actually thinking of joining to read the material, not steal (bad wannabe-ex-jw humor), but I thought it only took 6 months of pioneering, not years!
Going in ninja style seems like a feasible idea, but I'm too cute to go to prison. So how do I get my hands on them the legal way?
