  The Turning Sword in Genesis

  genesis 3: 24 - and so he drove the man out and posted at the east of the garden of eden the cherubs and the flaming blade of a sword that was turning itself continually to guard the way to the tree of life.

  correct me if i'm wrong, but didn't man create the sword?

  what was god doing with a blade in heaven?

  Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't man create the sword? What was God doing with a blade in heaven? There was no hatred, violence, or war at this time in Biblical history. Or is this not to be taking literally? If not, then why is there a picture of this sword in the "Book of Bible Stories" for children?

  i just wanted to clear something up about micheal's kids being biracial since i see people commenting on it a lot on this board and others.

  fyi, mixed kids don't always come out looking mixed.

  sometimes a mixed child will come out looking black, and not white at all.

  I really don't think they're his either. This was more about me pointing out the many variations of a mixed child, not necessarily saying that these are his kids.

  because, people forget that michale once looked VERY black and even bi-racial children who look white by color rarely do not have some of their black parents features...those kids do not show a single trace of anything remotely like Michaels family.... while that is possible, I find it highly unlikely that they were fathered by him or any other black man.

  It doesn't matter how black he is. He could look like charcoal. The fact of the matter is their mother is white. Sometimes one parent's gene dominates the other. My nephew is my brother's clone. There isn't an ounce of his mother in his appearance. And don't be too quick to say "any other black man". Some black people have European features. I have mixed relatives on both sides of my family. I can't name too many that actually have strong black features. I really don't care about Micheal's insecurities either, but it looked to me that many people were thinking that there is no way possible that these children could be Micheal's or any other black person, which isn't true. That's the only thing I was trying to clarify.

  I was making a point about Micheal's kids, not him. In that case, it is about genetics. I don't know what his problem is. But Vitiligo is a real disease. Many black people have it. My Dad's friend has it. It's a gradual process. He's even thinking about having a procedure ( what Micheal is claiming to have done) to further the progression so he want have to cover up the light spots with makeup any more. They can't stay out in the sun for long either, which would explain Micheal's infamous umbrella. But having not actually seen Micheal progressively lose his pigmentation, I'm kind of skeptical. It's a shame too. He was such a cutie!

  FYI, mixed kids don't always come out looking mixed. Sometimes a mixed child will come out looking black, and not white at all. Other times they will look white. Yes, ALL WHITE. It's rare, but it happens. I've seen it on television and in real life. Also, about 75% of all African Americans supposedly has caucasian ancestory. So this ancestory can pop up in a person when you least expect it. Two dark skinned black people can have a light brown skinned child. It's happened in my own family.

  I'm not saying they are his children, but I think it's important for people to know. It's obvious that a lot of people don't understand how genetics work.

  do any of you ever feel for some odd reason that this could really be the "truth"?

  i see what's going on in the world today and the stuff my mother usually spews is starting to make sense.

  Do any of you ever feel for some odd reason that this could really be the "truth"? I see what's going on in the world today and the stuff my mother usually spews is starting to make sense. I feel like I'm being sucked back in. The pressure from my family is getting worse. And my brother is making me feel guilty for having my mother be in this religion by herself. He lives 2 hours away and my dad and I are both inactive. I was enthusiastic when I first started learning about the secrets of the WTS and that I would finally be free, but that initial rush has worn off and I've now gone into a deep depression. Nothing makes sense anymore and I'm beginning to wonder if looking towards the future is a waste of time. What's the point? Life is so short. You only have a good 70 or 80 years of life and not even that is promised. So I ask again. What's the point? Why do we try so hard to hold on to this meager existence. This can't be right. Something tells me it wasn't meant to be this way.

  Don't play by their stupid rules. Don't let them into your house.

  That's the problem. It's not my house. I guess I could tell my Mom to tell them I'm not up for a visit, but only God knows how that will turn out. It's like these people think they can do whatever they want just because they're elders. They don't even ask if they can come over. They just do it like they're on the god damn police force or something. My mom will sit in on the visit. She expects me to talk to them about my doubts and not just tell them I'm depressed and need time. So I'm not too sure pretending would work in my case. I know lying would make my life easier, but I'm not sure I want easy. I'm at the end of my rope-fed up with it all. I just want to be rid of the whole thing. Why is that wrong?

  I was afraid this day would come soon and now it has. I'm getting a sheperding call this Saturday. I have five days to figure out how I'm going to handle this. My mom already knows I'm no longer a believer. I so want to send in a resignation letter to avoid this, but then again I don't want the stigma that goes along with being disfellowhipped. It'll be another year before I leave for college. I have zero friends in the org to lose, but all of my immediate family is still in-both parents, one brother, and my grandmother. I know they wouldn't stop socializing with me, but I was hoping to avoid as much tension as possible, but now these bastards have to come along and screw it up. I'm tired of pretending. What am I suppose to do? Tell them I'm spiritual weak and will try to ease my way back in. I think not. And if I tell them I no longer believe, they'll disfellowship me anyway right? I hate this OBSCENITY DELETED religion.

  Even without reading the thread, I will say I have no regrets. None.

  My son is the light of my life. Nobody said it would be easy. And if I could change one thing...I wouldn't because it might mean that I wouldn't have my son.

  This isn't to say that everyone has regrets, but some do. And most of the women on that thread did.

  Nobody said it would be easy.

  And that's the problem. Too many women think it is.

This really should be read by those who think they're ready or have unrealistic views about childrearing. You know who you are! It ain't all peaches and cream ladies.
