all the dubs pouring into melbourne, australia for the international convention gonna choke on their cornflakes when they read this .... http://www.heraldsun.com.au/news/opinion/former-jehovahs-witness-lifts-lid-on-stifling-doomobsessed-religion/story-fni0ffsx-1227092921890.

Whoa! That is most excellent, and will be the talk of the convention. hehehe
It would be interesting to be a 'fly on the wall', to hear what the JWs are saying. Also, I wonder what types of questions they may field about this article from 'worldly people' who they may interact with.

http://news.yahoo.com/lockheed-says-makes-breakthrough-fusion-energy-project-123840986--finance.html.
a prototype for testing in a year?
there have been a number of claims about fusion reactors in the past year but this seems the most bold.. .
What DATA-DOG said ^^^. It's all about the money.
Isn't science and technology wonderful? Too bad it isn't used to fix the world's problems instead of lining the pockets of the uber-rich.

Good to see you, GG!
hey guys.
there has been a ton of illuminati hollywood mind control pre-programming about this virus outbreak before it actually happened.
conspiracy people of the world... unite.. .
*sigh* I miss Breaking Bad. Why, oh, why, did it have to end?
BTW, gopher123, I don't think conspiracy theories are crazy -- we just don't know *what* the governments are doing, and they are not to be trusted. Lest we forget, The Tuskegee Experiment is a great and very sad example of how little our governments value the lives of their citizens.

so i'm reading a book about a young black man sent to prison for 40 years.
the name of the book is in the place of justice a story of punishment and deliverance.
by wilbert rideau.
It sounds like Dot and hubbie were very 'liberal' JWs! I'm guessing it was the 50s / 60s because of the mention of her race causing problems ....... very odd, indeed! I wonder if Dot's executive husband was an Overseer? (that's what they were called, back in the day)

i lost my mother some time ago.
today my sister throws up 3 john 1:4 "i have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth.
" don't any of these cult people undestand when something is emotional black mail?
PS. Remember - you LOVE your mom, and *that* is what really matters!

It is very cruel and low as a tactic. No matter what your logical mind tells you, it pushes that guilt button and plays on your emotions.
My 20s were such a hard time, and partly, because of this very thing. My father and another "elder" actually came to my house one time, and got me all worked up about my mother being so sad that I would not come back to the Lie. I was crying and so upset, that my ex-husband told them to leave, and never bring up the religion again or they were not welcome in our house.
I'm sorry you are dealing with this.

i am applying to chemical engineering course in the uk through ucas (a lot of things changed since i've posted last time).. i have a lot of skills i developed while regular pioneering, like public speaking skills, ability to reason (even if it's bs), presentational skills etc.. i feel it would boost my personal statement a lot, but i'm also afraid they would say "this guy beleives in god, and loves science, he must be creationist.
away with him".. how could i mention that i gave interviews front of thousands of people and did voluntary work in my hometown without giving a bad impression?.
i don't want to go into details and start explaining myself that "however i don't beleive in god", or something like that.
You can categorize this as part of your volunteering on your CV or personal statement, and skills learned via that volunteer work. And that is being honest, because it was truly volunteer work.
xx, and hey, good luck, and enjoy the math! Love math *big grin*

i suppose that this question falls under the topic of "personal experiences.
" so, i have a question for the members of the site: has anyone had any experience with a malady called "chlostridium dificille infection"?
either yourself personally, or a relative or a friend?
My friend had c. diff last year. He had to be hospitalized and on IV antibiotics. He was recovering from brain cancer at the time, though, and his system was already weak. By the time he was diagnosed, he was close to kidney failure, but the good news is, that after a few months of dialysis, he recovered, and all is well.
One thing we learned to be aware of, is that it can recur. It's important to be very aware of how one is feeling, even after the infection seems to have been cured. Sometimes it comes back.
Good luck with it, it's bad stuff~!
