Some days / times are more difficult than others. Sorry you are having a sad.
I try to think of de-ah Miss Scah-lett, when she said "After all, tomorrow is another day!"
It's okay to feel how you are feeling; grieving is a process.

it's been 12 years since i first read ray franz's books and the scales came off my eyes.
by that time i was in my forties.. since 2002 i went back to school and have worked with 3 very professional organizations.
but my biological clock is ticking away and while my peers are looking forward to retirement, i am only beginning.

Just to clarify, if I post a picture using my facebook url, is that traceable to my facebook account? Or the account's e-mail?
I use Photobucket myself, but f/b would be much easier, and I ask for others' benefit, too. Lots of folks like myself, who can use a bit of help.
It took me a while to figure out Photobucket, as it was uncommon ground and illness/pain makes me stupid sometimes. ;) It's been quite humbling.
Also, they made it easier. Photobucket is easy to use, if anyone is wondering. It's me, not them... :P
Thanks.

it seems like the list of people who are accusing him of rape and sexual assault is growing every day.
i'm skeptical of single accusations but the number of people and the similar stories seem overwhelming now.. it's not a conviction but to the court of public opinion ... guilty?.

Oh, I feel queasy after reading that. 1976, Las Vegas, yeah, that was a common occurence. We may have only heard of 'roofies' or GBH in the past 20 years or so, but this has been around forever. Her statement is plausible, that's for sure. She is a brave soul.
Thanks, Dagney, for sharing the article.

i want to retire.
i'm quite a ways off from the age to collect social security and all.
i don't hate working--i actually like it.
Oh, and yes, I think you are correct. Many people seem to have no inner life. There are probably multiple causes, like stress, technological demands on 'alone' time, and lack of interpersonal contact, to name a few. Dramatic people remind me of the drowning man, flailing around; a cry for help. But I'm not the doctor. ;)

Ugh. I hear you! The Feds offered me a job twice, and the provincial GEU (Government Employees Union) as well, and I turned them down. It's been called a poor choice, but honestly, I have no regrets.
In my assignments as a long-term temp at the time, I got to see the ugly, and wanted no part of it. All that drama is boring, exhausting and a waste of time. Most of my career was spent working for private consulting firms, where the environment had to be that of a a team. Everyone from the receptionist to the president, was considered essential. Those days are gone.
Wishing you more peace at work.

im sure someone must have posted this before but here goes.. q: how many jws does it take to change a lightbulb?.
a : jws are not allowed to change lightbulbs.
anyone attempting to introduce new light gets disfellowshipped.. .
A: Two. He needs two witnesses to prove he changed the lightbulb, himself and one other person who actually witnessed the changing of said lightbulb.

That's interesting, ShirleyW. Janice Dickerson has no filter, so, hmmm........... she could very well be telling the truth, or at the very least 'her' truth.
Simon, I had not heard of these rumours. *sigh* Nope, don't miss TV at all.

EDIT: Sorry, not rumours, but 'allegations'.
*sometimes I forget how legalistic JWN has become* klass
this is probably all old news to most but i found it interesting.
i was trying to find the website that has all the boes and in my yahoo search these showed up and i checked them out.
there are probably better lines than the ones i picked out but if interested check them out.. http://wol.jw.org/en/wol/d/r1/lp-e/202012206#h=0:0-3:583 "a trustee or executor should be aware that whether the estate is large or small, liberties should not be taken with the assets.
I know little about wills, probate courts and such. Here's a question....
Depending on the jurisdiction (I am guessing), if you left a bankrupt estate to the JWS, would they have any legal obligation to settle the debt?

nfl commissioner roger goodell placed minnesota viking's player adrian peterson on indefinite suspension for using extreme measures in disciplining his son using a tree branch switch.. sports illustrated covered details about how the process works with the players union, the player, and the nfl.. www.si.com/nfl/2014/11/17/minnesota-vikings-adrian-peterson-suspended.
i remember vivid scenes in kingdom halls and in the homes of jws who used extreme measures to discipline their children.

I agree with Simon on this. I would relate that my friends (a couple) raised their children with zero physical punishment. We were friends as teens, so I was there for the "whole nine yards" and babysat the kids frequently when they were little, as Dad was in the Navy, and mom needed breaks (twins and a toddler LOL). They (all 3) are in their early 20s, in school with no major problems, and were very nice children. Always have been, even as toddlers. But, of course, that is just 'anecdotal evidence'. ;)

Steve2 said,
The core message is: Secular law has long made a crime out of one adult hitting another adult, yet in many countries says it is okay for parents to beat children. So you can hit a child and get away with it - but you cannot hit an adult. Surely those who are most vulnerable - children at the mercy of parents - need protection.
That has always been my reasoning. I've actually asked someone if the next time they disagree with me, can I give them a good smack.
Times have changed - it is a whole different world than it was ever a decade or two ago. To cite the fact that many Witness children were physically hit by their parents at kingdom halls seems a little unfair, given that even schools were allowed to use corporal punishment.
There is a key difference, though. I don't know about NZ, but here in Canada, parents were encouraged from the platform to beat their children. My schoolmates did not get beaten in church, nor did the minister/pastor urge their parents to beat them as part of his sermon.
