"For sale: baby shoes, never worn"
by Simon inif you've never come across the above title before, it's considered to be the shortest novel possible.
a story, possibly a moving one, in just 6 words attributed to earnest hemingway.. it started a genre called "flash fiction" which is a memoir in six-words.. what would yours be?.
indoctrinated child found freedom, love, family.

Also, Canada has no affiliation with the USA. It is a completely different type of government, and not part of the Commonwealth. We have a different sensibility, and do not wish to be "americanized". Would you call someone from Argentina, American? (it's all part of 'the Americas') I think not.
Good question, Cofty.

I thought the pic looked familiar. He is a part of our history, and that is a cool connection that your family has.
PS. Please dp not call Canada "America", that is akin to calling Scotland "Britain", ie, offensive. I know that would never be your intent.
Thank you. xx

Watchtower purchases CoC copyright for undisclosed amount!
by the girl next door innow what is your stance?
-
talesin
It's difficult, if not impossible to give an honest reaction to an hypothetical situation, especially one that is so far-fetched and fraught with emotional issues.
If the copyright owner *did* sell it to the Tower, then she would have already disrespected Ray's wishes, and by illegally distributing it, we would be fulfilling his dying wish. That is my answer, and it goes right along with the opinions I have already expressed.
Legally, it would be wrong. But morally, I would have no problem with it.

My dilemma
by Saltheart Foamfollower ini have a bit of a dilemma that i would welcome advice on from the forum.. a brother in my congregation is giving evidence of having woken up - his comments and talks are usually slanted towards topics discussed here.
he is a former elder and is part of a group of other former elders and ministerial servants who i regularly overhear using terms i would expect to hear from ones knowing ttat.
he is a quite an effective teacher and will probably influence some.. however, in the past he has caused lots of problems for myself and others who i like (including another poster to this site who i have identified) and continues to be someone who i dislike intensely on a personal level.. his comments have been noticed by the body of elders and he is being watched.

I'd say 'trust your gut'.
If you really feel like reaching out, you could just say "I really enjoyed your talk" ......... if he is awake to TTATT, that should be enough to connect. On the other hand, if he is casting out lures to catch apostate thinkers, he can't fault you for the compliment.
Just a thought. Stay safe!

Survival of the fittest doesn't mean 'strongest'; it's my understanding that it is more like best able to adapt.
Correct me if I'm wrong, Cofty, but that's what I recall from school.
Great series of vids, and nice and short, like a PSA.

by ScottyRex ini just watched this clip on youtube....i can't begin to say how it made me feel.

Some people have far too much time on their hands. Fools.
This is not constructive - what are they teaching?
Narrator: "Oh, see these sisters down here? They're laughing. They're thinking ..." "Oh, this sister has violence issues" "This guy just has his finger up to his face and he's thinking, oh ..."T: What are you buddy, a mind reader?
Narrator: "They are so mentally diseased ... these are the kind of people that need chemical therapy ... in order to get by in life."
T: Un-frickin-believable. Perhaps you should look into some chemical therapy,. You are ridiculing people on the internet, after secretly videotaping them in the place of worship without their permission, and mocking them. You sound mean-spirited and bitter. You are NOT educating the public - you are making a fool of yourself. This is twisted. -

That's a bit intrusive, isn't it? I got the impression that your personal business was just that.
I've felt the same way. Gotten heated, and felt that perhaps said things that were undignified. Guess what? We're all human, and we all have our dark side. Sometimes it pops out unexpectedly.
No respect lost here, and glad to see you back. You always have an interesting viewpoint, and honest. -

This reminds me of my friends. :sparkling_heart:
They've all moved to other countries and provinces, but great memories! Especially the wine and food; those diapers look disposable, ie, hippies use cloth, of course! *grins*
EDIT: Note that she has a box AND a magnum. Wise, indeed. hehehe
