Today is Christmas, and guess what? Witnesses's were going house to house on my block, TODAY ON CHRISTMAS!!!!!!

i kid you not!!!!!

my family, and i, were on our way to my wife's brothers house today, which is the families christmas tradition.

we open presents in the morning, and at around 10:30, we head over to my brother in laws for breakfast/brunch, with all the family.. so, as we loaded some presents up in the car, and we all jumped, and drove away, at the end of my block, jehovahs witnesses!

The people I've known, and have been friends and family with for over 3 decades, would agree with Carla's comments. There would be 2 distinct reactions; (1) explain it is not a good time, but they would be welcome in for a hot drink, or kindly turned away, or (2) WTF? Who the hell do you think you are? I know all about your cult - get off my doorstep, NOW!

Either way, I can't tell you how many times this has happened to me. Not at Xmas, but other Monday mornings. Especially after they started Wednesday evening FS....... oh, and Saturday mornings? ahahaha I know, I did it, too. Oh, the shame!

on Monday when everybody is back to work they will tell how some @$$%@^$ jw showed up while company was there

i believe that if i am to believe " man is a creature of god" i am putting my trust in the wisdom of past ages.

i also believe many political leaders, pretend to believe in this acient wisdom because they reason the public will be more tolerant of there acts of aggression if it is believed they are acting with a higher powers approval.. anyway i have concluded that:- .

when acts of aggression are carried out by our governments people still like to believe our leaders have a higher authority's approval.. do you think my observation:.

The worst gift of Christmas

everybody gets one, the gift that stared up at you hopefully from its beautiful wrapping, and then, like a deflated balloon, delivers the worst gift ever.. i'm not talking about the gifts from small children like the "greatest aunt" coffee mug or the red and black lace folding fan.

surely you never would have chosen them for yourself, but it's the thought that counts from small people who love you.. then, there's the what the hell were they thinking gifts.

my mother-in-law has been giving these a lot lately.

It wasn't this year; it was many years ago. But still, I think, WORST gift, ever!

I was 22, only married a few months. Had never celebrated the holidays. It still felt 'disloyal' to my parents, and just plain weird, so no gifts, please. So I told my MIL that I would come over after they unwrapped gifts, to help prepare the Xmas dinner, etc. We had spent Xmas Eve there. too. Specifically, I had told the in-laws from the get-go --- I did not want a gift.

Well, MIL did not like me. and was determined to have her way, so when I arrived, there was a gift all right. It was one of those "you're not gonna like it, but let's see you keep a smile on your face" moments. Remember that I was only 22, 'into' my clothes and makeup; you know, your average 1980s 20-something GIRL

Here's what she gave me! My very own car model kit. What a biotch!

What did you have for Christmas dinner?

my inlaws are polish, though my husband is a 3rd generation american, but the food traditions have stuck around.. we have christmas eve dinner starting with red beet soup with sour cream, pierogies filled with mashed potatoes or saurkraut, ham, polish sausage sliced and cooked with saurkraut, turkey (that part is american), krischickies (likely spelled wrong) which are crispy pastries dipped in powdered sugar, and apple pie (also american.).

there are goodnatured threats toward bad children who may need to get their dupa busted (butt spanked) and therefore santa will bring figismachen.

i also love golabkis (ground beef and rice wrapped in cabbage leaves), but these were not served this time.

truthseeker - I am with you on that. My room mate made Pizza ! What better way to finish off the day.

Every year, I would cook my best friend the traditional feast (around here, turkey, dressing, yams (NOT candied, yuck), gravy, stewed cranberries, etc. THEN, I found out a few years ago, that he loves KFC, and turkey? Not so much. So, I started buying KFC, and it is the Xmas dinner of choice! (last year, I bought it elsewhere for ethical reasons, but equally as good). hehe ,,, pizza & friend chicken .... *burp*

i am not one of those individuals who dropped the wt agenda years ago to hop on the first bandwagon of worldly attractions to cross my path.

No, it was a power play, and mean. You probably gave a better talk than he could, and he was jealous. Maybe that was a problem for a lot of people. My father used to take hours preparing a talk (especially an 'away' talk), to make sure it was special.

Like everything else in the b'Org, they are never pleased. It's too bad there weren't more 'nice' people - but, I suppose, the whole set-up is meant to suck the joy out of life. Being criticized at every step kept us downtrodden, and fearing 'the whip'.

We expect that sort of thing at work (if it's minimum wage, that's the truth of it), but not at one's place of worship! (I'm an atheist myself, but you know what I mean). It's such a cult, ain't that the truth?

i grew a full beard now and with glasses i finally have posted my picture on facebook og me... next to half life 2 cover showing i look like gordan freeman lol.
