i just had a jw come to my door and i had to threaten her to get her to leave!
i told the woman right off i was 'apostate' and had no intention of changing it.
she kept asking me personal questions which i told her were none of her business and she said she would have the elders come by and i told her that if they came by the better be wearing bullet proof vests!

Sorry abt your experience, it's hard not to let them push yr buttons when the past has been so horrendous.
I had trouble with them a few years ago. I put a sign on my front door saying "JW's are not welcome here. Go away!" It worked.

toronto (cp) - a woman who received $5,000 in damages after accusing the canadian wing of the jehovah's witnesses of negligence over their handling of allegations of sexual abuse is being asked to pay for part of the religious group's legal costs in the case.

in may my beloved grandmother passed away at the age of 87. it was a long struggle for her, and i thought i was dealing with her death pretty well.
well yesterday, i went to my jw parents for a visit (had not been there in several months.
) the first thing mom wanted me to do was to look in my grandmother's personal possessions to see if was there anything i wanted.

there is no experience that matches drumming with a group of 'like' souls. it is one of my favorite things. it must be v. sad for you to dis-connect from these people, but you know what is right for you. i find it is helpful if i can sit by the water (ocean) if i am alone. i get a rhythm with nature in a way that is very special.
i'm sure the changes in the rhythm of your life will be positive in the long run.

i'm sitting at work today, listening to all the different "cliques" around me, typing here on these boards a bit (don't tell), and it occurred to me again that i just don't fit.. .
it seems like i don't "fit" anywhere.
i'm always on the outskirts of alot of "groups", always on the fringe, but never inside.
i know eggs-ackly what you mean. i didn't even fit in with the other jw kids 'back in the day'. now i celebrate my difference (if i was rich, they'd call me eccentric, but as it is, i'm just a freak).
