  A Hummingbird in My House

  we just had a hummingbird in our house!

  it flew in through an open door.

  i had been cleaning my back patio and left the screen open for a few moments when i was putting stuff away.

  What an awesome thing, to help that tiny, beautiful treasure! And hold it in your hands. :))

  Birds will 'freeze' when they are panicked, and appear dead. Its talons were probably hanging onto that screen in a death grip - good job!

  I have some feathered friends that I hand feed every day, they are delightful!

  VI - right! I've had to help one tenant who kept having a bird get into his basement apt. this winter (seeking warmth - we had a harsh winter). They will fly to the light, so if you make the room as dark as possible, with only the window or door open for light, they will follow that light to freedom. xx

  Blondie - his name was 'suppressed' - I am thinking that is because some of the victims were identified, and they were underage. He was using this tool as well as concealed cameras in bathrooms in a couple of locations. They will sometimes ban the perpetrator's name from publication if the victims are known to the perp - you know, protection of the victim's identity in sex crimes.

  Governing Body Mandating That Parents Shun DF'd Preteens Baptized Children Will Hurt Them Big Time In The Courts

  as the bad conduct of the governing body becomes widely known to both judge and jury i expect that will make lawsuits more profitable against them and easier wins against them and more plentiful.. i think probably one of the most damming videos out there on the net is the one where the parents show their loyalty to the wt corporation and shun their own flesh and blood in obedience to it cruel directives.

  this video truely shows that the governing body don't give a shit about the children who symbolize their dedication to the corporation or their parents.. such a self serving corporation that uses it members for profits only and offer nothing in return no matter how much how much they claim otherwise.

  they can't hide this it is plain as day so no matter how much they claim they are concerned about the youth in the organization their action thunder loudly and can not be hiden under a basket.

  This story is from 2013. If you are from this town, you may know this perv, and alert others to his sick deeds of secretly filming school girls via using a JW briefcase. He also had cameras installed in bathrooms. The police also stated that he did not personally record the 1400 videos in his possession - so maybe his name was kept secret because he is part of a 'kiddie porn ring'.

  This excerpt gives identifying facts about the man and location. It would be interesting to know if there were any other outcomes from this case, 2 years later.

  
  A Jehovah's Witness filmed up the skirts of hundreds of women and schoolgirls in central Wellington, and when visiting private homes to spread the faith.
  Police believe at least 1000 women and girls could have been filmed by the man, 36, who would leave work at lunchtime to spy up their skirts on a handmade device attached to his briefcase.
  The former Department of Internal Affairs employee, who has name suppression, has now been kicked out of his church. A member of his congregation at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Kilbirnie confirmed he was not welcome back.
  "He has been removed," the church member said. "Everybody has been very saddened by what has taken place. Any act of that nature is a concern."
  After the man's arrest in March, police found 1400 recordings, most of which they believe he made around Wellington from February to October last year.

  they are not printing as much literature as they once were and they are still operating walkill for the magazines...er a ....pamphlets.

  this topic was inspired by one of fhn's comments on the 'warzone' thread, so i'll just restate my post there .

  .. "i've been wondering for a while now if ridicule really is an unacceptable feature in debate - it certainly isn't a valid form of argumentation.

  the thing is, some individuals really do come out with the most laughable nonsense and parade it as a serious proposition that merits attention.

  If you get your jollies off by making fun of people, especially those who seem to be suffering from mental illness or extreme naivete, then have at it. It's the internet - it's not as if anyone can look you in the eye and call you out.

  The weak and the ill don't have a voice - let's not give them one. After all they are either stupid or mentally lazy, right? *heavy sarcasm*

  From my latest tour at Bethel, I was told the move was to differentiate the World Headquarters from the US branch. It's really nothing more than a corporate reorg. In the past the US branch was the World HQ. Now they are setting them up as separate and distinct. The US branch can focus on the US and the World HQ will focus on coordinating all of the branches.

  "Separate and distinct" - hmm, the Conti lawsuit may be an indication that the US branch of the WTS may be looking at many more lawsuits. Perhaps this 'complete reorg.' is a way to prevent the world-wide b'Org from paying out millions in future American lawsuits (they know their goose is cooked).

  It's one thing to settle out of court for 5 figures (they have done a LOT of that), but quite another to pay up for what could potentially be, a Class Action Suit.

  if you had to pinpoint the time or experience that finally made you open your eyes, what would it be?.

  i think for me it was the time i saw my dad shun his brother who he had not seen in decades just because he was a da'ed jw.

  i thought to my self "no way jesus would do that.

  When I left home to 'serve where the need was greater'. I was no longer behind my parents' protective barrier, and got to see what the 'brothers' and 'sisters' were really like. They were mostly a bunch of hypocrites - my pioneer roomies having sex with their boyfriends, elders and pioneers getting wasted on liquor. Final straw was when my friend hung himself - he was gay - because he could not live the life of a JW.
  
  I thought "this is not the TRUTH, these people are a bunch of liars. There is no God." So, I quit it.
