Cofty My purpose in posting here is to help others, and expose the Watchtower. If you wish to see yourself as a science teacher and destroyer of bible myths, that is fine. You are off topic.

Half banana, I live in Nova Scotia. We had a harsh winter in 2014/15. This year was more moderate, but always a late spring. Snow in April is not unusual, but also short-lived (gone in a couple of hours). The summers get hot, up to 90s, rare 3 digits, and last well into late September. Fall is lovely colours after the first frost, and mixed with surprisingly warm (20-25 DegC) days. It's moderate. We don't usually get snow till Xmas or shortly after. We can't grow tropical fruit outdoors, but most everything else (fruit trees, flowers, any root veg, the usual). : )
PS. I've over-wintered the calla lily once, and the Xmas and Easter cacti, in a cool basement. haha, back in the days of home ownership. Indoor gardening has been enforced. This winter, my room mate and successfully kept our basil, and it's now flourishing and soon to be transplanted in a deeper vessel. The next place will have a yard or other outdoor spot. Downtown is nice, but I miss my outside morning coffee.

Kaik, here's a pic of one huge bank of rhodes in our Public Gardens - it seems to have recovered from the winter of 2014/15. The people on the right side of the 'bush' give the picture scale. No flowers for a few weeks - we still have the occasional few cms of snow that doesn't stick.

The spring flowers are out - crocuses and snowdrops, and some others.
And a sure sign of spring - a visitor to our drive-by-peanut window. : )
Crocuses ...

UN Library again... The "NGO Resource Center"
by AntiEntropy inas we know, there were at least 2 ways to enter the un ngo bldg : 'ground pass' and 'library pass'.
and the 'ground pass' matters was dealt by many posts in old times.
basically, the policy of 'library pass' had not been chaged before 9.11 as we read.. however, some pro-jws have been insisting that it was not the un ngo bldg.

Yeah, you're right. I keep forgetting about my parents' blind acceptance - any explanations are usually made by apologists. It's the mindset, and easy to 'forget' since I don't see my parents anymore. x -

Where and What. . . IS THE EVIDENCE for "Mental ILLNESS"? ? ?
by Terry ini have no interest whatsoever in stirring up controversy.. in fact, i find clashes of opinion to be debilitatingly negative.. so, i'd simply like to request that we narrow this discussion to evidence.. please watch this video which is tantalizingly titled :.
"there's no such thing as mental illness".. consider this data and listen to the presentation of cause vs. effects and give me your analysis and any evidence for conclusions you may draw.
we all have anecdotal tendencies, but i should remind you, anecdotal testimony isn't evidence, only opinion.________________________________________.

Wasanelder - "A symphony of tranquilzers" - so true. SMDH
My pet peeve atm is this recent explosion of diabetic medications, which is so UNNECESSARY. Diet and exercise are the culprits behind type 2 diabetes. I don't understand why anyone would rather take a pill? It's nuts.

Oh my~! Well, he has an opinion, and not much else. It's true that people in our western society overmedicates and take anti-depressants when in reality, most of them need time or therapy.
To assert that bipolarism or schizophrenia can be helped with no durgs is INSANE. I have two friends who deal with schizophrenia without drugs (because of the side effects), but their cases are very mild.
Bipolarism has taken the lives of 5 people I know, one of them was a member here, Oompa. It's a dangerous illness, and no one should ever recommend 'no meds' for this dis-ease.
Many doctors are drug pushers, indiscriminately 'diagnosing' people in their rush to make a buck from each office visit (I mean, it only takes 30 seconds to write a 'scrip, right?). Far too many people are taking SSRIs, Xanax (imagine - some idiot GP doctor diagnosed my friend as bipolar, and put her on XANAX? WTF?), and even PPIs. People want to pop a pill instead of changing their diets, taking a walk, etc.
Having said that, Rx drugs are necessary for many chronic illnesses, such as Juvenile Diabetes (Type 1), hypo-thyroidism, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia.+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Here's a fact. This guy claims to "know the truth" about Robin Williams, Bill Cosby, the Dalai Lama, David Letterman, the Euro, Rape Culture, etc. He's an internet blowhard. And that is just my opinion. xx

The Jehovah’s Witness bagged themselves a Big One when they got Professor Raj Kalaria, to speak about his belief
by Watchtower-Free inuk scientist helps christian cult to promote creationism.
the jehovah’s witness bagged themselves a big one when they got professor raj kalaria, above, to speak about his belief in creationism in a new video posted online by the cult.. keralia is currently a deputy director of the newcastle centre for brain ageing and vitality, newcastle, and a professor of neuropathology at newcastle university, uk.. when ex-jehovah’s witness lloyd evans, who runs jwsurvey, discovered that an april 2016 jw broadcasting episode featured keralia, he decided to:.
reach out to newcastle university to find out whether it endorses the academic’s stance on evolution, and found myself in a rather frustrating email exchange with helen rae, the media relations manager at the university’s faculty of medical sciences .. after much to-ing and fro-ing, an official statement was finally forthcoming ….

I would like to see Cedars' original correspondence to 'Helen". Who knows what he wrote? This is merely Cedars' story, unverified.
