The use of the apostrophe in english plurals has a long history. The texts of Shakespeare do occasionally use it.
Victorian grammarians attempted to standardise English in line with latin and created artificial rules to do so. (Sounds like another bunch of old timers.) So they said "It is I"
Not "It's me" as in french etc.
The apostrophe problem arises because in the days before radio or TV ironed out fine distinctions of pronunciation, people still said "eggis" (pl) or "dogges" (pl) The addition of the unnecessary ( ' ) is to do with pronunciation and provenance of the writer's ancestors.

the older i get the more i believe that being single is the way to go.there are so many advantages.just to name a few;.
you can finish that college degree, go to the neighborhood bar anytime, do charity work, join a night class, stay out all night, flirt with anybody you please.
The facts are:
An unmarried male is more likely to have a breakdown than a married man.
A married woman is more likely to have one than her single counterpart.
Married men live longer than single men.
Single women live longer than married women.
The WT propaganda machine constantly publishes pics of happy gatherings where you can see who is married to who. Only the kids have no partner. Even Gilead now only churns out married couples. Let's face it: in the Borg if you are on your own nobody wants you, except to alleviate their loneliness on the door to bore misery. One of the nastiest territorial boundary disputes I ever saw was two congregations squabbling over a couple of hundred yards of a street in the city centre.
Another fight happened when a brother and his family (six children) lived on the inter-congregational no-fly zone. They decided to go to the nearest kindumb hell,a mere 15 mins drive. But the elders in the other hall kicked up a fuss that they were in their terror tory and insisted they drive the best part of 45 mins to their hall. Arguments about young kids on midweek meetings, bedtime etc, fell on deaf ears. Being good j Witlessness they did what they were told was the right thing (not the best for their family) None of the kids are in now - probably saw through all that loving elders stuff for what it is.
As for the new map - all they have done is use the most up to date satellite mapping, and claimed the credit.

i know many people who don't like cops and even give them all kinds of names.
some may be nice, but many think they are superior to the ordinary citizen.
i see so many doing radar on bottom of hills where automatically you will go over the speed limit.
Nearly all of them are decent people just earning a crust for their family, and hoping to stay alive for one more day like the rest of us.
God help us without them. BY CHRIST the lesssons of history teach us He won't.

Regarding Me
After two years of studying the Babble with the Witlessness I think god was really mean when he knew my older brother had 'arranged' to to meet another boy from high School in the local park with me. My "lovely" brother left me ( they said " turn your back NOW" - I was always defiant and arrogant so I didn't fully, I peeped - why can I still see those coins dropping and not want to scream??) with this guy who put me through utter degraded misery. (I was 9)
After running away I got home to find my brother drinking Coke and eating candy. ( we were never given money for that sort of thing - we were POOR) but Mom found out about it because Big Brother told her what I said to him after I escaped - (Brother got his own version in first He - ain't a Dub, never was); I was made to feel shame that "every time I go into the store I know they've been talking about that incident" I knew that I was to stay silent... The worst was one Sunday when this boy cycled past the Kindumb Hell as we came out - I just spontaneously vomited in the street. Lots of public sympathy, but did I get trouble when the front door closed!!
I was told never to discuss this with anyone as I would be "showing the family" up.
My brother told our Mom before I had the chance to overcome my guilt shame and fear (I had grasped what DF means even at 9.) Recently I confronted my brother about this and all he could say was: "That's not the way I remember it."
Am I being a true vengeful bastard???
