  years ago, i began to research eastern philosophy.

  i discovered the i ching.

  i have found its answers so un-nervingly accurate that now i am wary of asking any questions.... .

  Try asking a question yourself.

  I have done it so often that I am now convinced it is something beyond the traditional JW demon stuff.

  Do you have a copy of the I Ching? Have you read Jung's study of it??

  How can a book of ink and paper tell you that you are having an affair?

  There is a lot of literature on this - look at it then come back, because I am absolutely amazed by what I have got from this.

  You are not consulting a medium or tarot - yet the answers are so relevant.

  I SUGGEST - ask a whole series of questions yourself - analyse the answers then come back and say what you think.

  That is what I did 20 years ago - and I am still asking questions and wondering....

  In the time I have been visiting this site, nobody has mentioned I Ching - yet it is an uncannily accurate source of answers.

  Everyone posting here should get a copy and ask questions relevant to the WBTS and see what happens...

  the latest inside u.s. figures reveal that 86% of jw children leave the fold, with some 29% who eventually come back for reasons of family ties, most never "reaching out.

  Experience of new elders meeting format.....

  just to let you know that the s2 has come back from london with my deletion on it, so i expect it to be announced on thursday, it will be interesting to see how "my brothers and sisters" treat me.

  anyway with regards to my experience to the new format of elders meetings.... some of you may be aware of the change to the format announced at the the elders seminar 2002 and in the subsequent letter, regarding the handling of an elder whose child has been involved in serious conduct.. basically the change is that a special elders meeting is held, where the elder is questioned by the body on why he thinks his child got into trouble?

  was it his fault?

  long ago.

  I refuse to enable viruses by not keeping any email addresses

  on my computer. They are written in a good old fashioned paper diary.

  What if the WTBTS designed something to trawl all our computers for apostate ids?

  Someone is clever enough to do that. After all, there's now software that uses your

  computer without your knowledge for cnet and other purposes.

  It's funny to us,

  but the combined middle class of India Pakistan Bangladesh Sri Lanka Burma and Indonesia is well in to the 150 million plus region, if not more.

  Any one with an idea for original fashions for chubby big built bearded macho men in turbans will make a fortune selling their designs on the cat walks of New Delhi...

  Only wish I had such an interest...

  questions about 1975 and other dates

  my wife and i were discussing the date of 1975 earlier this week and she basically was of the opinion that the individuals who thought the end was coming in that year came up with the date based on their incorrect assesment of published information.

  i replied that would it make sense for thousands of people across the continent to sell their homes and all of their valued possesions if they really had the slightest doubt that armageddon was not coming in 1975. she did'nt have an answer for that retort but still she insisted that somehow these people must have made a mistake in their judgement.

  so for those of you who may have lived through the 1975 fiasco and those who have in-depth knowledge about the events that took place in that year maybe you can answer a few questions for me.. how widespread was the belief that 1975 was the year of armageddon?

  Before the days when assembly talks were from manuscript, and brothers were monitored for deviations therefrom,

  COs DOs Elders, you name it gave talks hammering 1975 into our brains.

  "Armaggeddon will be over and done with by 1975"

  "Children now at kindergarten will never graduate from High School"

  "Well, Brothers, only eight years nine months and five days to go"

  "Jehovah's Witlessness have been right so often in the past, if they say Armaggeddon may come in 1975, why should we doubt it Brothers."

  There is a website "Quotes-jehovahswitnesses" or"Jehovahswitnesses-quotes which catalogs all their date setting from 1881, right through 1914,1915,1917,1919,1925 etc...

  There is no editorial comment, just the WTBTS own words. Probably why they asked Kindumb Hell libraries to send old publications back to Bethel.

  Interestingly in Studies from the Scriptures ( I have them) Russell suggested that evolution could have produced the species according to natural laws, with the exception of Man (cause that would make the whole ransom business a vast cosmic joke.)

  If things in our solar system had been different we would not be here to discuss it now.

  I just think how incredibly lucky I am to have my own little slice of eternity to call my very own. If we are just one tiny tiny fiber in the vast cosmic tapestry we should be enjoying every second. I don't think that if there were a grand design we could ever understand it any more than some hypothetical intelligent microbe on a cog in London's Big Ben.

  tuesday evening i learned that my aunt clara died.

  it was confirmed to me by a poster here who has contacts in the borg.

  apparently she died several years ago, but i wasn't ever told she had died by my heartless borg family.

  Years ago, I knew a catholic girl - she studied got baptized, and married a brother.

  Not one of her disgusted catholic relatives would attend the wedding or sent a present.

  Everyone remarked that this proves the catholics don't have the truth; yet I bet the witlessness do this sort of thing to ex dub relatives far more often.
